C-Dory Sightings

Well my wife, Beth and I were just sitting on our water side porch having a second cup of coffee and watching the boats going north on the intercoastal waterway ... The boats bunch up just below our house for the Sunset Beach swing bridge opening... Then we saw Molly -J ,a 25 C-Dory...I hollored on our hand held radio and they came back but then did not answer us again....I hope I didn't scare them off !! It was a shame to have missed a conversation...Then I looked up Molly -J on the C-Brat site and discovered that they are from North Dakota. Beth and I will be in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota in just 3 weeks. Sorry we missed the chance for a conversation or lunch on the waterway while they were in my area.

Too bad we had just removed our C-Dory from our boathouse for a spring cleaning. Had it still been there the folks on Molly-J would have passed within 200 feet of it and likely have seen it and called.

Keep you life jacket on!

So sorry we missed catching up with you guys. We thought it was one of the other boats calling us - but didn't hear anything back. We will be back in South Dakota by the 2nd week in May-we live about 50 miles north of Sioux Falls. MollyJ will be on her trailer for a while then. if you are in the area of Brookings, SD, please give us a call. We've had fun on our trip spotting all the C-Dory's and the number of people who have come up to us and said it looks like a great little boat has been too many to count-everyone asks if we have read River Horse, though. We'll have to get it when we get home. thanks for the note, sorry we missed the connection. :(

Just saw it on the NorthWest Cable News channel, few minutes ago. In the story about relocating in stead of shooting the Sea Lions that are eating the salmon and sturgon around the Bonneville Dam. A dark stripped, 19 or 22 Angler. OK, somebody, Fess up.

Molly-J , yep you missed the free meal and you could have put your C-Dory on our lift and spent the night..{ The lift is set up for a 25 C-dory}..We will be in Sioux Falls ,S.D. on about May 20 or 21...My wife will be doing a work shop in Sioux Falls : I think for the schools. By the way what will the weather be like ? keep your life jacket on, tucker

I was over in western Nevada on a exploratory future hunting trip and spotted a 16' C-Dory at Topaz Lake Casino/Campground. We were filling up at the gas station and I spotted it in the campsite just down the hill. Don't know who it was, I couldn't see any name on it. I was with someone else or I would have walked down and said "HI".

Two sightings for me to report , first is Simplicity [C.C. from nearby ] a week or so ago on their way around the big bend of Florida . Met them at Scipio Creek Marina and had a great chat before they departed .
In town now we have Nan C from Iowa . They are staying a few days in Apalachicola at the Water Street Hotel Marina on their first extended cruise . We are going to have a beverage and some locally caught seafood [by me] tonight , and swap some stories .

Yesterday we were heading south on I-5 just north of Salem when we saw a 19' angler headed northbound, no name on the boat, pulled by a pickup with a camper....didn't recognize the boat and hard to have a conversation with the owner when we're passing at 65mph

You know it's funny to see this thread this morning....I noticed a Ranger 25 in Salem MA near Winter Island. It was still in storage in a boat yard on the other side of a fence. I just noticed the top half of it so I did not see a vessel name. I did not think there were any other C products in my area.

While on Detroit Reservoir this weekend saw Ramblin Rose a 22 cruiser, and a 22 angler classic. Seems like the guy on the classic said it was an 82. Might not have heard him correctly. Hope they caught more fish than I did.

On my way up to Bellingham on Saturday afternoon, I just caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye of a CD25 southbound on I-5 near the Tulalip Casino...did not see the name, it had the bimini up. So, who was it?

While I was on my way to the hardware store early on Sat. AM, I saw CheckPoint heading west on Bothell Way. I was going to rent tools to work, he was going to play.... :cry

I read Pats post from Apr 28 2008. That would have been C-Knight enroute from Master Marine to Ephrata when we picked up our new
cd-25. If anyone is going to Lake roosevelt memorial day weekend might see you there.

I was loading up to leave suttle lake on sunday afternoon when an suv approached me on the ramp. He said he was driving down the highway on the other side of the lake and saw the C-Dory and had to have a closer look. Turns out he is the former owner of the Lynne Marie, and says he is now possibly in the market for another C-Dory.

I was sitting on my dock this morning recoverying from my little hospital stay and low and behold about 1/2 mile away I say the undestingishable lines of a C-Dory approaching. It turned out to be Comfy Dory on thier way to Fernindina Beach. Sorry I didn't have my camera as I had been installing a LMF 200. We had a wonderful conversation and you could tell by the smiles on the crews faces they were having a wonderful time. Their vessel was spotless. It looked as if it had just rolled off the showroom floor. Thier destination for the evening was the Cumberland Island area and I was really envious I wasn't able to join them. You meet the nicest people in a C-Dory!!!!!!!!

Spotted a nice Ranger 25 travelling from Everett to Hat Island marina this weekend. I clocked her at about 13 mph all the way. Pretty good for a diesel, I guess. We continued around the island and back to Everett. Nice day on the water.

Susan E :thup South bound Monday in the Swinomish. I don't always wear green coveralls. :smilep I had just come in from touching up the bottom paint on Pocket Yacht and considering the :smileo tide thought I should wave you over. That bar has claimed a several victims already this year. :smiled Jack

Watching the series "America's Port" on National Geographic Channel, there was a 22' C-Dory shown that is owned by a crane operator in the Port of L.A.- Bo, if you sign on here--- great looking setup on the dingy rack- nice looking boat. :thup
