C-Dory has been sold

Rats, I was hoping the new CEO was Les with Dusty as Spiritual Advisor! Red Fox would be be great as new product Test Pilot/Captain and Thataway's Bob Austin could lead Quality Control!

Now THAT would be a boat worth every penny!

Jeez - I would have suggested Red as the ideal customer service person - he has such a way with people.

At the present time, I'll remain as "On Good Authority" but it is very possible I'll better ID myself in the future.

Thanks for your attention.

There was a guy in the Sitka area named Porky Pikar. I want to here some of his stories. Like the April Fools volcano tire fire.

Ha ha!
This makes me wonder if you are part of C-Dory. (Why else be shy?)

Well if you are part of C-Dory, I will say flat out you can increase company revenue by regular participation on this board.

When I first heard of C-Dory I soon came to this site. I was blown away by the fact that Jeff M (now with Ranger Tugs) regularly participated and provided information directly to customers. That very much swayed me away from other brands I was considering.

Protect your valuable brand equity (which has taken a beating) by continuing to make good boats, fix a few of the known QC issues, and keep your customers informed.

Of course....you may just be shy for other reasons!

No idea why I'm rambling right now...it must be that it's Friday and I'm planning a cruise to the Isle of Shoals....

To All C-Brats;

Let's try and put all of the rumors to bed and let the company come out with the official release. Please...DO NOT CALL C-DORY - give the management team some time to get their ducks in a row before y'all call them to ask the same questions that they have been asked over and over again.

Everything TN Ranger stated is true.

New owner is FLUID MARINE LLC. (not a liquidation company)
The new CEO is RICH FINLEY.
All employees have been offered a job to stay with C-Dory.
The new owner brings capitol.
All warranty, quality, production issues will continue to be addressed.
ORCA will be manufactured in the Auburn plant.

The response from the management team has been ALL positive!!

I am looking forward to seeing all of you Saturday afternoon at the Anacortes CBGT.

Best regards,

Well, glad to see that C-Dory will continue in business. There's a good background behind them:

The Tolands developed the line, and build good boats,

I bought one of the post-Toland boats, and it is a great boat. I think the Reynolds did well, and I think they improved the C-25. I hope they came out of this OK.

I wish the new present owners well, and hope they keep the line going.

Boris

Good Day All !!

Yes, I am still in TN.
Yes, I have been working very closely with another WA business of late.
Yes, There may be some more workings in the future with some other WA boating boating folks, but it has not been with Scot Reynolds or any of his crew.
Yes, looking forward to seeing a few of yall on the 4th of July weekend.
Yes, I wish Jeff Messmer would have bought the company. We had a winner at the factory when we had Jeff there, as we had a winner and true caring dealership when we had Les and Kathy. But things change.

Thanks for the phone calls guys.. but, no... I am not the TN guy who bought C-Dory. My company has another line of boats and yes we are doing well, we are working very close now with a well respected west coast business partner. Off to deliver a boat in FL next week, then have another one arriving for delivery just after my return from the Chesapeake Bay gig....

I am still just a C-Brat just a guy who has bought 3 of them, help sell some more, helped a bit in our annual Seattle Boat Show Gathering a bit, helped with a few TN C-Brat Gatherings...and some other states too.... but for me...no investment here... I just love the boats, love the fun times around the boats and our C-Brat Gatherings.....

Give'm time... Listen good at the gatherings. Good companies know rumors are bad .....as are the bad communications in, with and from companies.

I feel sure anyone who has even spent minimal time on this owners group site realizes that communications is truly currently an issue, not only for owners, but for their dealerships too. Factories have dealerships, but at times, it is just nice to call the factory. I get answers from Yamaha, I get answers from Raymarine.

Even if they have been opening dealerships like one of our charter members plants potatos...they have to communicate. Hopefully, they are simply putting together a nice clean announcement rather than folks trying to guess. Rather than folks PM'ing dealerships the factory should be able to trust to keep things confidential rather than asking folks to PM them for more info...

They will inform us as an owners group when THEY, the new leadership feel the time is right. A lot of moving parts in one of these deals.

Yall have a great weekend with family and friends on the water. Look forward to seeing many of you soon...somewhere.

See some of yall soon in the Chesapeake area.

WOW... See there guys.... check out the post that was made after receiving another phone call.... and was typing a response.

Rich: Thanks for the announcement. Welcome to our site as the newest factory rep!
