C-Dory decal/logo

Hi,

I need to replace the C-Dory logo decals on the sides of my boat. I searched the site here and everything I found seems to be from 2008. I was wondering if there is any way to buy a set? I was thinking of taking a picture of the old one to a sign place and see what they say? Any ideas?
Thanks!

I would try Triton Marine, the C-Dory manufactures currently, and see if they can help you out. Find the link to their site on the bottom left corner on the C-Brat home page.

A lot of sign/banner vendors can make Gerber vinyl decals from scans or photos. If you can get a good photo you should be able to get new decals. In addition to a photo (or scan) you'll need to have one or more dimensions to scale the image to the right size decal. It shouldn't be that expensive (although I haven't done it for awhile).

Either Triton Marine--or your local vinyl sign shop. A detailer damaged one of mine, and got a replacement in a few hours, from a photo and dimensions of the old one. You cannot tell the difference.

Thanks for all the info guys! I've emailed Triton and another email I found under the manufacturer website. I didn't get a reply. Ill try a local sign shop and go from there. Thanks again!

It's all too common NOT to get a response from Triton, unfortunately!

Charlie,

I would give Triton a little slack. They are struggling to stay above water, have a very small crew and are concentrating on making new boats. Yes customer support is important but, always that darned "but"...............give them some slack.
Thanks.

Well for right now, Triton is probably scrambling to get boats ready for the Seattle Boat Show so they might need a bit of slack. Last we heard about them, they had the placed packed with boats under construction. (Let's hope they are all sold, {or soon will be} and they can get on with the C-Dory production in a growing way.

A side note, I believe that a phone call might get a more immediate response, but again, it is going to take some action at Triton either way....

Seems like they would have those decals in stock though, wouldn't it?

Morning.........

The C-Dory Logo is a special raised print product.........
(I can not remember the proper name for such an expensive product)
......that you need to get from the manufacturer
if........
.......you want the exact correct logo product on your boat.

I will try and load the logo into our Lady KC photos (page 15)

PS--presently sitting in the cockpit and internet access is slow.

I wonder if that depends on the year/place of build? I ask because my C-Dory 22 logo looks for all the world to be original, and yet it's not "puffy" but is instead flat, just like a typical vinyl boat name.

(It is nice to know about/have the option of "puffy," if that's what C-Dory is using now, and/or if one wants to be period correct for whichever years of boat had them originally.)

Thanks, Roger - I figured it might be something like that. Sounds like the OP's boat would have had the "flat" logos originally.

I prefer the non-puffy (and it would be period-correct for my boat), but I imagine there are others who would prefer the "puffy," and/or might want it because it was the original style on their boat.

Nice to know about options.

When I found Jim's Dorie, she was sitting in a deserted driveway, with a full cover and the purchase was made, before we ever got the full cover off. ( Probably not the best way to buy a boat, but there was so much new look and smell I couldn't resist  well sort of.) Long story short, when she was finally ours, we got the cover off and the title in hand and saw what we had there wasn't a C-Dory logo anywhere. AH HUH Ah What. Yup not C-Dory on the side. We were pretty sure it was one (duh ) but it took a while for that to sink in. I called the factory and talked to them, gave them the HIN number and a bit of the acquisition story and they sent me a set of the logo decals like they were installing at the time.

Here is the link to the process of converting "Jim's Dorie" to SleepyC:moon the C-Dory with the proper vinyl  :thup

Good luck with your process.
