C-Dory at the Seattle Boat Show?

Hello All,

In my recent inquiry about building/ordering a boat, a few suggested that I attend the Seattle Boat Show. And, so I will.

When I look at the exhibitor list, I don't see C-Dory represented. Should I be concerned, or will there be an opportunity to engage with the manufacturer, and walk aboard various models?

Thank you.

DG

I don't see the C-Dory factory on the list (Triton Marine) but C-Dory's are represented by MASTER MARINE SERVICES, INC. and WAYPOINT MARINE, INC., according to the Boat Brands listing.

Master Marine and Waypoint are the local dealers. I work down the road from Master Marine and they don't have anything C-Dory in inventory. Unless they get a loaner they may not have anything on display. They finally sold the 22 Cruiser they brought last year.

Waypoint had a 23 Venture last year but if you search their site they don't have anything C-Dory in inventory locally either.

If you are coming up just to see a C-Dory and talk to a dealer, I'd call both those places to see if they'll actually have anything to show. There were only 2 C-Dory's to look at last year. This year you may only have brochures…

Bummer how poorly represented C-Dory's are by dealers in their home market…

If Sportcraft out of Portland will be at the Portland Show, they usually have a good stock of C-Dory's. You could always make a trip up to see them at their showroom. Mike has always been good to work with.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Lots to see at the boat show. I would doubt the whole C-Dory line would be represented. I would think a visit to the factory and a local dealer might be enlightening if you are in the area. I would bet you could get a look at some C-Brat owned boats if you have particular models that have sparked your interest. The factory has not been big on boat shows for a while.
D.D.

I would make an appointment with the factory to visit, and discuss your "wants" there.

You would be better served to go to a C Dory gathering--such as the Friday Harbor gathering 5/16 thru 5/18. Take the ferry over to Friday Harbor, and get a hotel room. Most likely you will not only see all of the C Dory line, but have a great chance to talk to the owners and see custom modifications.

Ryan Bigbee there is knowlegable, helpful, and easy to work with.

Unless I am misreading the show website, the C-Dory factory is on the exhibitor list. Northwest Marine Industries will be located in booth "North 155." Whether or not they will be displaying any boats in the C-Dory line, it does not indicate.

.....and Bob could have added "and get a ride on almost any version you want.

Besides, Friday Harbor in May is so much nicer than Seattle in January.

Totally agree w/ Dr. Bob and Harvey.... would prefer the Friday Harbor Gathering over the Seattle Boat Show for both seeing a larger variety of C-Dory's as well as better weather.

In recent years the Friday Harbor Gathering (run very capably by Barry and his lovely wife Patti "Colobear") has been attracting right about 50 boats. Quite the turnout and enjoyable get together in the beautiful San Juans!

Of course you would be readily welcome to go to both also!

Take care,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah on C-Renity
