My '95 Cruiser did coming up the Chesapeake Bay in 2004. Out by Wolf Trap Light, heading North we had 8-10 foot swells and we were falling into the trough every time. In changing helmsmen, both of us left the deck and went down in the aisle and my navigator (a retired USN Admiral) suffered a compound fracture of his right ankle. Had to head into the York River to get him to the hospital.
Before someone tells me we shouldn't have been out there, I know that. We left Portsmouth heading for the Potomac River with a forcast of moderating winds/seas but as sometimes happensl the weather guessers were wrong! The boat was fine, never worried about it but the passengers had a rough time! I tried going faster, slowing down, everything I could think of.
