C-Brat Tip Jar/Donations

It looks like an attorney will be needed to deal with this windfall income!

Well, I wouldn't have been a C-Dory owner if the site was limited to present owners. Virtually every person who eventually buys a C-Dory finds this site first, and it is a big factor in the purchase decision.

I would not be opposed to an annual membership dues arrangement with the prerequisite of being a C-Dory/Ranger owner :D

I'd hate to see C-Dory/Ranger ownership as a prerequisite to this site. I spent years monitoring here and then asking questions in order to help me order and equip my TomCat. If one is unable to ask about these things prior to buying and equipping his/her boat, a major benefit of participation is lost.

Keep up the good work! and Thanks! John

Hello,
I was wondering are these donations tax deductable? I asked my brother works for the I.R.S. and said he wasn't sure. I told him this was probably some sort of religious type non profit organization. Do we get any sort of commemorative plaques? Just pulling ur chain. Thanks for all your efforts.

This site is on the whole fun and a great place to share your adventures and learn from others, so is well worth a donation from those inclined, but we I guess are in the very small minority in that it had nothing to do with our purchasing a C-Dory boat or in using it in the way we do. In fact if we had found this site while still in the consideration phase we likely would not have purchased our C-Dory due to being convinced that with our level of boating experience it would be virtually impossible to use it in the way we planned, so am glad we bought first explored second and then checked in here.

Brats,

I owned my CD22 for over 10 years before there was any C Dory websites. I do wish there had been one when I started outfitting my boat. It would have made many decisions easier.

Since the internet is a 'free for all', anyone can start a 'C-Dory Owners Only' group, but 'C-Brats' is a 'one of a kind' for those with a Brat mentality.

My CC donation is 'in the mail'!

Thanks Mike and Bill!

I spent a day with friends on my Ranger 25...and it came up about the issue of membership on the C Brat site...

After my discourse, (and they were all boat people) theiy said: how wonderful to have a site with such expertise, such humor, such wide variance of opinion...and it does not matter whether you own a CD, Ranger, or some other boat...all can learn fromthe amazing expertise here...so, my vote: be inclusive..if that is reallly possible.. in the boating world, this is a unique spot...toilets, hanging hooks, changing oil, fuel consumption, sleeping arrangements, nasty complaints, decorative skills, it is all at this site...Why not share it.

That is my .o4Cents.

:wink Count me in as soon as we get back in the country.I'm on a friends computer in Canada. Home in August with some neat pictures, I hope :smiled Jack

The thing that makes me feel good about this site is when you look at who is donating, you will see the old timers as well as new members and some that have been members for a while but seldom or never post that are donating. A good cross section of the membership.

Thanks Bill & Mike – I hope you make a ton of money from this. Wish I was in a position to donate more.

Checks in the mail and thanks for a great site. I belong to a forum similiar to the C-Brat forum called V-Twin forum. It had the same "Just be Nice" concept. It grew quickly and the moderators were overwhelmed. The expense of maintaining the site made it necessary to accept donations also to help with the expense's. Eventually they had to make certain areas of the site available to paid members only. Hopefully this site won't be required to do that because it seemed to change after that. Again thanks for a great site I'm goin fishin!

I donated as this site got me to purchase a TomCat and a 16C. The TomCat got me to retire and move to a lake house with a dock for the boat. 60 hours now and counting and the boat is working great. My wife and I are having fun on the Lake of the Ozarks. Thanks for all the information!

I donated several days ago because I really enjoy the site and appreciate Tyboo's and Da Nag's investment of time, money, and effort. I had not originally intended to post on this thread, but it probably makes sense to proclaim the appreciation publicly and to motivate others to act by example.

Thanks! It should be more!

Regards to all,

Greg

I found my C-Dory in the ads here at C-Brats. Found C-Brats while researching C-Dory's. Learning a lot due to this site and it's members.
Thanks, all.

I willing donated. I have been asking to donate for a while but was always told that it was not needed yet. I was not going to post about it because just like other donations that I make during the year, I don't brag (not that anyone here is) or even take a tax break for it, I do it because it’s the right thing to do. I only post to flog a dead horse that needs a few more lashes. When we are unfortunate enough to become a member only pay site you can count me out right there and then. I first became a member under the c-dog label at least two years before buying a c-dory from les. That site and the continuation of its members here were a great influence on our choice in boats. As of this weekend Susan and I logged 817 hours on a three year old boat and don't regret one hour of it, well that one time but I won't go it to it  I come here for the boat and the people and not in that order. I have learned more about boats, and traveling in them from this site them a person without this support will in years. The benefits of this site in knowledge, encouragement, ideas, humor, debate, and fun go far and beyond any that I have encountered elsewhere on the web or even in person. My fishing club in Edmonds is nice but not as nice and helpful as the members here. This is a great resource for anyone who boats or is thinking of buying a boat. Just my 25 cents worth (inflation)

I already have a hat. Can I have a tee shirt instead?

Just kidding..jeez?!

I too have just donated and would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent site. I enjoy the posts, the pictures, and the wide variety of backgrounds and viewpoints of the people on this site. I have gotten several ideas and have received much encouragement to tackle new projects.

Please keep up the good work.

Andy

I made my donation tonight gratefully! 4320 posts for only $5.00 is about 1/10 of a cent per post. Cheap in any inflationary and recessionary period! Joe.
