Bow Rails on 16'

I've noticed that some 16' C-Dorys have the bow rails and some don't. At the factory site it dosn't list the bow rails under equipment for the 16, but does for the 19.
Question - how nice of a feature is it - and if a 16 dosn't have bow rails - can they be "easily" installed?

They are a must have for me. I sit on the bow when deploying the anchor so they are worth their weight in gold when it get a little rough. The option cost $325 according to the website: http://www.c-dory.com/16%20pricing.htm
