Bought my Dory last Saturday!

After ten years and two boats, we finally found our C Dory. I have been looking at many C Dorys, attended events, and traveled up and down the East Coast. After a trip to Maryland to see a 22 Cruiser and not finding the boat we wanted, I was about to give up. I kept checking the want ads and found one in upstate NY. The owner said the boat was garage kept for nine years, had 94 hours, and was in excellent condition. I wanted to be sure before I made a 600 mile trip! The owner sent lots of info and photos and I was hooked. We agreed on a price and last Thursday we headed to NY. After a 10 hour trip, we arrived and met the owner outside of his storage building. He opened the door and there sat an almost new condition 2000 22 Cruiser with a 90HP Honda and new trailer. The chief became excited and so did I!. The next day after a meeting at the bank, we headed back to NC at 10:30am. After a cautious haul and an over-night stay in Winchester , VA. we arrived back in NC on Saturday at 11:00am. The old 96 Chevy pulled OK with no troubles and the new strange trailer did fine. Now the 22' cruiser is sitting in my driveway!!! John F. thanks for being honest and businesslike during the sale. Thank you for your kindness while we were in your town. I will continue to take care of the boat the way you would want. Now for the hard part-what name to choose?

Congradulations Pete!

Now that you have the C-Dory, you may want to upgrade "The Chief" to "The Admiral", although now you' re officially "The Captain", or " The Skipper", whichever you prefer!

Congradulations, either way!

Joe. :teeth :thup

Actually, to go from Chief to Admiral is not considered an upgrade--maybe comparable, at best
Congratulations Pete (and to the Chief)

Congrats Pete

I am looking at one this weekend, however the admiral has me on a tight leash on the terms, so we shall see. You will certainly enjoy this site and all the info that can be gleened.

Pete, congratulations on finding your prize. Many happy wakes to cross, and sunsets to wounder over as you put on the hours and the (s)miles. Enjoy the boat, the sight and especially the experiences.

Congratulations! Welcome to the cult. They are great little boats. Enjoy, get it out on the water...often...even if just for a day. Life gets better with every hour on the water (or so El and Bill tell me  )

Congrats Pete! I bet it was a wonderful feeling to see it for the first time.... and then even better to look behind you at refueling stops on the way home..... and..... when you went out this morning to rub on it a bit too.

Safe travels and many, many laughs, and good times!! :smiled :thup

We even have a C-Dory dealer in NC (you may already know this - but in case you don't). Great folks at Mobile East - met them last year at the NC Gathering.

You're in the construction trade, right? How about "C-Level"

Hey, I couldn't think of any other good tools that would work.

Congratulations Pete and 1st mate on your excellent find and purchase.
Those 22' CD's are a fun and economical boat to own and use. I had one for 26 years and have many happy memories and caught many fish out of it.
Be safe and enjoy your boat. It will take good care of you and your 1st mate.
