My buddy Jim (jennykatz) decided to save a few bucks and bottom paint his 06 CC23 today. Total paint used was 3 quarts....2 for the boat and 1 for Jim.

Good to see that he will not have to worry about being seen in public while sporting a layer of unsightly algae or barnacles. It is not how you dress but how you accessorize.

Good luck scrubbing the paint off the back of his arms

I practically need a power sander the days when my paint suit rips for whatever reason.

In actuallity we used less then 1 gallon took about 3 hours with Mikes help he was management I was labor . It gets harder and harder to fit under a trailer as one gets older .The Paint was on sale $95 a gallon , paint supplies $35 It sure beats paying $ 500-1200 at a boat yard . Since Mike is moving I will be loosing my happy home (moorage at Mike's)So I want to get all the maintenance done before he leaves .

Good for you Jim... those gloves were a real good idea.

Did you have to pressure wash first and did you put an ablative paint on top an ablative paint?

Yes Russ we used a pressure washer first and then bought West marines CPP ablative paint it was also on sale for $89.95 plus tx the whole job was less then $130 .Dr Bob threw away the shirt and pants and pressure washed the drive no worries Jim
