Boat windshield Wipers

Needed wipers on trips a few times, lost a wiper on return trip .Where can I get replacements for our boats? Have not started looking at auto stores yet, not even sure where to get them thanks.
 
If you lost just the blade you can buy replacments at most auto parts stores. Buy one that is longer then you need than snip to correct length with a pair of dikes; this is by far the cheapest alternative.
If you lost the whole stainless steel wiper West Marine should have a replacement.
 
Your local NAPA store is the place to go: Probably be part number:
NAPA part # 60-1502, Some say it is for a post war Willis Jeep, Some back window of early VW bugs. West Marine sometimes carry them at a price at least twice that of NAPA.

Take your other blade with you.

I have also done refills from Trico blades, if it is just the rubber part missing.
 
I didn't have any luck at the auto parts stores but found a perfect clip on match at West Marine.
 
Another question about windshield wipers--- How do you adjust the tension to keep the wiper on the glass?

I have the top mount wipers and they do not stay on the glass. I push them down on the glass and by the second pass they are just waving in the air.

Isn't the tension on the glass a function of the spring in the wiper arm?

I know some wipers for curved windshields have a curved, spring loaded set to them, but the flat ones are held in place by the wiper arm tension.

If yours won't set against the windshield with proper tension, the arm spring must be broken or it's action impeded by something like salt accumulation.

I'd remove the wiper arms, look them over, and investigate, then replace if necessary.

The wiper arm swivel point corrodes over time, a couple shot of WD-40 and working it up and down a couple of times seems to do the trick. I have to do this a couple times a year. I'm sure there are better lubricants I just like WD-40 around the boat because it's non-toxic and doesn't leave a sticky film or residue.
 
Will try Nappa thanks, Phillips screw is gone,along with lower part of metal blade. So half the wiper is gone. Also want to get them to work better at cleaning window, need them to push on glass more.
