Not sure how much it cost to make that video (boat damage, because even with the Ropelene there is going to be some serious scratching).
The major disadvantage of the boats is heat distortion--and perhaps the problem with screws holding.
The old Sport yack dinghies, were made of a similar material. You could not destroy them, and they were so ugly that no one would steel them. But they made a heck of a small dinghy....
