Could anyone shed some light on the weight of a typically loaded 22' C dory with a big motor / kicker or twin 40/50's on it?

Would a 4,500lb boat lift cover it?

I'm getting a lift for my Ski boat and it'd be nice if it could handle a C-Dory when the ski boat goes into the barn for the winter.

Thx

Use the search function at the top of the page. I think a loaded 22 Cruiser will come in well under #4500.

I've calculated my CD-22 with a single Yamaha 90 4-Stroke weighs about 3300 lbs, and it's fairly well loaded up.

A 4500 lift would undoubtably give you a good margin of safety!

22 Cruisers can go on3700 pound capacity single axle trailers, although many opt for the 4000 pound tandem. Either way, you are below 4500 pounds.

You should be good to go. The 22 loaded on a tandem axle trailer is usually under 4500 lbs.

I don't know exactly what lift you have, but often by putting a pulley on the bottom (cradle beam) at each point, and thus making the cable twice as long--you can come close to doubling the capacity of the lift.

If you have a double motor lift, there will be no problem. Even if you have a single motor lift, it should take the C Dory 22 easily.

A photo would help.
