Boat for Lake superior

I live in Duluth and recently bought a 16 angler and a 22-cruiser. Neither have been out on Superior (late season purchases) but you better believe I plan on fishing/exploring every nook Superior has. Isle Royale and Stannard Rock will be a dream come true to say the least.

My 16 is for sale (see FS section) if you plan to do mostly fishing and want to enter the CD market on a budget. (she's right here in Mn too)

I just returned for a week on the 22 in the San Juans, my first real boat trip ever...trust this CD newbie, I doubt a better boat the the money could be found. We hit approx 3-4 foot waves coming back from Friday Harbor, I kicked down the speed and we just plowed (and a little bounced) right on through. I can also report that if you keep the speed down (with a Honda 90) a 22 cruiser will get 10+mpg barring any strongly opposed current/wind.

I'm doing a brief little write-up in another thread if you're interested.

Hope to see you out on the big lake this summer eh!

Y'all might find this interesting. I have been in this kind of situation when I was younger. That's why my hair is gray now and why we're on the gulf coast. :wink

Wow - I confine my fishing to liquid water only. Never had an interest in ice fishing even when I lived in Illinois on a lake. For me, winter there was the time to shoot pool and go bowling.
