Just put together my Dot Line Deluxe 4 Step 7 inch boarding ladder and it doesn't fit over the side gunnels. I tied it over the transom and it kinda fits, but the hooks over the transom are not parallel.Does this matter or should it be safe enough.Tug

I'd think it would depend on how much weight you're going to put on it. How do you intend to use it?

It looks safe enough to me in the photo, but I think I would have my wife try it out a couple times to be sure :teeth

I had planned on just putting the ladder over the side whenever i was anchored fishing for Whitefish or Perch just in case i fell in. Hopefully i will never use it, just a safety feature, think its the law now anyway..Tug

Rich is right. You or someone else should try it and make sure it will hold you with wet clothes on. Maybe Rich's wife would volunteer. Mine won't... :disgust

Not a problem with one side rotated in--I had one I used that way for many years (Still have the ladder).
