Quite a few C-Brats have cruised in the Broughtons and many have probably stopped at Lagoon Cove. Sadly, Bill Barber, who owned Lagoon Cove with his wife Jean, passed away last week. Bill was quite a story teller and welcomed visitors with free fresh prawns almost every evening. He'll be missed.

Pat and Bob, who've been working at Lagoon Cove for several years, will operate the marina this summer.

Here's some details on the service in case anyone is free to attend:

We have a service scheduled for May 11th at 1:00. Church service at 1:00 followed by a reception at the church at 2:00.
St. James Episcopal Church
11511 SW Bull Mountain Rd, Tigard, Oregon 97224
Anyone who was a friend of Bill is invited. There will be a microphone and an opportunity to tell your Bill Story.
Also, I’m putting together a photo video of his life with some of his favorite music.

How grateful we are that we were able to have the " Lagoon Cove Experience" several times, complete with Bill's 5 o'clock prawns and his adult story hour. What a treat it was !!
Bill's death is another reminder to seize the moment and take "someday" out of our vocabulary.

We met Bill last summer, it was a real treat and a highlight of our Canadian cruise. He will be missed by many and remembered as a the unique individual he truly was.

As with so many other cruisers of the NW, we have fond memories of time at Lagoon Cove. The prawns, the happy laughter sitting on the dock chatting with Bill, Jean, Casey and Sandy, and other cruisers. We will all miss him but thanks, Bill, for the fine times shared with your good companionship.

Ahh, that sometime. One of life's carrots. We should never put off until tomorrow what we might accomplish today --- including living our dreams.

Never met Bill, or made it to the Broughtons .... yet. Working on the dreams, one day at a time.

Condolances, to his family.

Harvey
