Those of you who were brats several years ago will remember Bill and El of Halcyon. Bill suffered a severe stroke a some time ago and is now in an assisted living facility. With the Coronavirus pandemic he and El are both in lockdown and isolated. I spoke to El this morning, she is in good spirits but said Bill would really enjoy hearing from people, so his address is:

Bill Fiero
The Village at Belmar #316
7825 W. Alameda Ave
Lakewood, CO 80226

A card or note would mean a lot.

Thanks,

Thanks for the info. I was just asking Dr. Bob about them the other day.

Before you send a hand written card and lick the envelope read this "A new analysis found that the virus can remain viable in the air for up to 3 hours, on copper for up to 4 hours, on cardboard up to 24 hours and on plastic and stainless steel up to 72 hours." maybe an email???

Barry,

Thank you for keeping us in the loop, even though it’s sad news. El and Bill are such great folks.

Diana and I send them our very best wishes.

Be well,

Steve

Barry and Patti, Thanks for that news about Bill. Will get a card off to them soon. They have been an inspiration to me and to many here. Sure hope he has some improvement in his future, and prayers for them both.

This photo was taken at the 2009 Bellingham CBGT and their boat, "Halcyon" is the first one in the line.

Thanks,

Barry, any chance that they have a non-C-BRAT email. Can't send pictures via the C-BRAT email. Just checking.

Good to see you on the site. Thanks for passing the message on.

BTW, Nigel, (SnowTexan) has been taking really nice care of your boat.

One of the reasons I bought a cd-22 cruiser was because of Halcyon Adventures I was followingBill and Els Adventures . When a Cape Cruiser came up I bought to get a little more cockpit space
So sorry to hear about Bill

As far as I know Bill does not have e-mail access. While Tom makes a good point There are self stick envelopes or sponges if you send a card or letter.
For those of you who never heard of Bill and El check out the Halcyon Days thread. They were inspirations and an embodiment of the "just be nice" ethos that made and makes this such a good site.

I am so thankful to Bill and El and all their adventures with Halcyon Days. Early on with their Halcyon travels, I would read daily of their adventures on-line and vicariously live my life through their travels. Because of their love of travel and their experience of living 24/7 on a C-Dory, this is why we have one today.

Bill and El, if you are watching, THANK YOU!

We had a very nice Facetime with El this evening. She cannot visit Bill because his facility is on lockdown. She is able to communicate through an Alexis Echo that has a screen (??). This coincidentally was my memory today from six years ago when Bill and El gave us an extended tour of the southwest. Not sure where this photo was taken.

Great photo Pat. I think I remember that well --- "On The Bench"

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear Bill is on "Lock Down" but hope that is keeping him safe. I just saw on the News, and 90 year old who survived the Covid-19 and is not out of Life Care Center and home on the mend and definitely over the top of the curve.

Thanks again.
