Well, today I bit the bullet and bought a new truck. I really wanted something that was capable of towing way more than my "little" CD 22. That way when I have the funds available for a TomCat 255 I won't have to buy a new truck too (thinking well down the line to when the kid is out of college). I bought a 2010 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V-8. I got the "double cab" version which seats 6 total but with modest legroom in the back (the crew cab has huge space for passengers but only a 5.5' bed). I got the std. 6.5' bed with the tow package. Rated towing capacity is 10,300lbs. That's way over what I need for a 22, more than I need for a 25 and about what I need for a lightly loaded Tomcat. Since Toyota rates towing capacity assuming 100% of the time one is towing, I think it won't be a problem to tow at the 10,300 limit.
The truck is a 4x4 with automatic transmission. The tow package adds the hitch, a heavy duty alternator and a transmission cooler (+ a few other things). It's a very comfortable truck and rides similarly to the Isuzu trooper I used to have. Here's a photo from the Toyota site of the truck in the color I bought. I'll post some of my truck when I get a chance.

So with this truck I'll soon be dumping a 1984 F250 with a 351. The F250 runs well but it's not too pretty to look at. It's got about 124k miles on it and the tires are heavy duty with about 2-3kmiles on them. It's a great truck for those occasional runs to the dump. I bought it for about $2500 a few years ago. I put new tires on, a new battery in , had the rear main seal replaced (it was leaking when I bought it) and had the start solenoid replaced. I'll probably sell it for around $1500. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. Like I said, it's not pretty but it runs great and you definitely won't mind using it to haul dirt, rocks, bricks etc.
