BF 90 Suzuki

I purchased some spare washers (metal gaskets) to use when changing the oil on my 2003 BF 90 Suzuki engine and they don't fit. I bought them from a Suzuki dealer. I have since checked with two other dealers and they came up with the same part number after checking the serial number. The plug does not appear to have been resized, but the washers are too small. The Suzuki website recommends checking with a dealer. Has anyone had this problem? The part number is 09168-12012.

Something sounds wrong - it could very well be the part number is off. If you didn't buy this outboard new, it could be someone repaired the threads with an insert of some kind. If done well, it can be very, very difficult to tell. I don't think those gaskets/washers are special really, but you can buy purpose built oil pan washers/gaskets at good hardware stores and marine shops too. Getting the right size should be easy enough. While you were there, I think I would have had the parts representative grab a new plug too to see if it fits in the OEM washer just to see. Weird....

Just pulled my records and your part number is the same as I use. My motor is a 2014 but I can't imagine they would have changed the gasket.
