I've gotta get one of these. They're out of stock worldwide right now due to overwhelming demand, but they're relatively cheap ($39.95) and can be found on Ebay.

Now if they could only work at the helm of a C-16 I'd install a big stereo and feel like I've got a tiger under me....

:o :o :o

ME TOO !!! I just have to get one of those.... so I can impress all my friends with my Model A..... it's got a Opel Diesel in it...and sounds kinda like a stock motor..... I'll hook er up to a boom box and have a racer..

Joel, if it's stock, that "A" has enough room under the "hood" for a boom box even if it has to be temporarily duct taped in. run the volume up and truly impress your friends. The only thing is that the device uses alternator pulses to generate the signal so it may be a tad more complex to rig seeing as the stock A doesn't even know what 12 volts means.... I think us California types are gonna be buying 'em like half price In & Out burgers....

Super idea.

Yep...Ordered mine from EBAY.... lots of room under the hood...fer the boombox... and I have a 12 volt system and a GM alternator...so all will work just dandy......Vrooom

I'm putting one of them in the Prius and when the big battery is charging it'll sound like an Offenhauser.

Go to the Soundracer website. It won't work in a Prius. The brakes have to work every time and besides, it's too slow. Like going back to dialup internet. :sad

I think they had this for bicycles when I was a kid... it was called a Vrrrrrrooooom. Seems to me that you'd get a similar "performance boost" with racing stripes.

Ah, Charlie, I'll trade "we were so poor..." stories with you some time when our paths cross. I never had a Vroom, but I remember seeing kids who did. This thread brought up some of those aw-he's-SO-lucky feelings. I made up for it one year by putting a cassette tape of a Harley rumbling in the stereo of my Goldwing and cranking it up... at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

(Cue the music: "Git yer motor runnin'... Head out on the highway...")

yep
You were showing off if you used 4 cards!

Since some casinos give away their old playing cards, it is really too bad that there weren't the preponderance of casinos back in those days, because I REALLY went through many, many decks of playing cards.

Personally, I thought my bicycle sounded AWESOME! :thup
