baitwell question...

Anyone have a feel for the size of the baitwell sizes on the 22, 23, 25? Gallons or approx size is good.

I'm assuming that they are rounded and don't have any corners - is that true?

I really need to get out and see the boats. Managed to see a Tomcat in March or so, but no other C-Dories at the show. Lotta boat and my wallet, truck, and wife won't support it.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 22, and I"m very happy with this 13 gallon model bait tank

http://www.boatdepot.com/p-6592/aquawor ... -ultratank.

I made a table ( stole bcassal idea) that sets over the transom and it sets there when in use. For the 22 I wouldn't want any larger then this because of the extra weight it puts in the transom, but this one functions great. I do a lot of fishing and I wouldn't really see a need to have a larger tank in general because on a 22 you fish 3 comfortably and that should hold enough bait for at least a day.

I have had this tank stuffed with mackeral and the 500gph pump I use for it supported them just fine the whole day.

I have the factory installed bait tank in the Port lazarette locker.

Works fine for freshwater bait like common minnows, but doubt it's big enough or round enough for anchovies, sardines, or some other salt water bait that requires-

1. serious volume

2. circular water movement for bait to swim in a pattern

3. sufficient oxigenation of salt water for more dense bait loads

4. a light overhead to simulate the Sun and correctly orient the fish bait

I'm no expert, or even a moderately experienced salt water bait fisherman, but I know the above factors come into play with some types of bait.

I'm sure there some minimum suggested dimensions that can be found for such installations.
