Bahia de los angeles in Baja

Has anyone ever journeyed to Bahia de Los Angeles with a trailer and boat? We're thinking about a trip there and wondering about the road condition, launches, etc. Lots of Internet info, but first hand experience is always the best...

Thanks

Gary,

Look at my posting here: http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... light=baja

We trailered our Angler 22 to Loreto and La Paz two or three times. Trailering a 22 or smaller to Bahia LA should be easy. Roads are usually very good all the way. Almost everywhere on Hwy 1 down the Baja the pavement has a curb like drop. No shoulders. Having a trailer wheel leave the pavement has flipped entire rigs.

We think the cruising in the islands between Loreto and La Paz is better but probably not everyone agrees. Get a copy of Charlie's Charts for good info and reference.

We now prefer, with our 6 inch wider trailer and increased range, to trailer our 25 Jammin down to San Carlos and cross to Baja by water.

We are on the Baja trying to sell our Cal 31, Backstreets.

We plan to go to the mainland Jan-Mar so Dennis can do some paragliding. He got his novice rating this summer in Cashmere WA (http://aerialparagliding.com) and needs more launch practice.

Any CBrat paraglider pilots out there?

Jammin is stored at Marina Real in San Carlos. We will cruise the Baja in Mar-Jun.

Any questions please email us at svbackstreets@yahoo.com

Gary,

We trailered our TomCat the length of the Baja last winter. Spent 2-1/2 months and had a great time. The roads were the best I've seen in 25 years of Baja driving. We launched at Tripui, Magdalena Bay, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas. We haven't been in to Bahia de Los Angeles for a few years, the last time was with our 22' Angler. I think we heard the road was pot holed the last few miles last year. There are constant improvements to Highway 1, but as stated before there are NO SHOULDERS in many places. 55 MPH is a good speed at best and often slower is prudent.
