Bad Day at Mystery Bay

Just now got online after having been gone all day. Certainly didn't expect to be reading that Janet had had a fall resulting in such a serious injury. Please let her know that our thoughts and prayers are being sent her way for a most speedy recovery.

Most sincerely,

Roger & Janet,

Amy and I will have you in our prayers for a healthy recovery...

You were so welcoming to have us raft up to you last year at the Bellingham gathering and we were able to see what wonderful people you both are!

We could also tell you thoroughly enjoy your home on the water so we hope you are back out there soon.

Kind Regards,

John & Amy

Hope your recovery progresses well. Janet, You might want to find out from your doc if you are more susceptible to fractures for any specific reason. Osteopenia, low 25 hydroxy vitamin D, Calcium intake etc.

Most of my patients - in the cloudy PNW have low 25 hydroxy Vitamin D, due to minimal sun exposure Low D probably contributes to many health risks, including bone and joint health, and risks for MS, breast, prostate CA. The Data on Vitamin D is far from complete.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and know how that can be. Marie fell on a slippery dock 12 years ago and dislocated her shoulder--it is a very difficult scenerio.

Wow, what a couple of days for you two! It's good to hear she is home and I hope she heals quickly. All the best.

Wow - I miss a day and Janet breaks several ribs. I best not miss again! Please let her know that Joyce and I wish her well and don't tell her any jokes for a few months.

Roger, Thanks for the update. Sounds like she is doing well, (keep those pain drugs coming), that makes the breathing easier and she really needs to concentrate on doing that deep and well for awhile to stave off any complications. Hope all goes well with the moving logistics. We can help if you need it, just call. Good night and again many prayers for fast healing and comfortable sleeping.

Sure glad things are under control and I hope Janet recovers soon!

We all try to be careful but sometimes things just happen. And docks seem to be an easy place to get hurt. Fifteen years ago while tied to a floating dock at Stewart Island our friend stepped off the boat and slipped. She landed on the rail you tie to hitting just below her ribs.

We got her back on-board and motored to Roche where we had a taxi waiting to go to the doc (she refused to call an ambulance). She had internal bruising and we were able to continue the trip but with reduced activity. Be extra careful on those docks!

Roger and Janet,

I was just catching up on my C-Brat reading and saw your post. So sorry to hear of Janet's accident. We will be thinking of you both and praying for a speedy recovery.
