Ok , I have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of our revived Trawlerrentals.com business . We have put a very nicely equipped 2003 C Dory 25 Cruiser in our charter/rental fleet at Wefings .
I have listed her on a newfangled site called www.boatbound.com and the link is HERE
She is getting an air conditioner tomorrow and is in good working order . She has a Garmin 12" with a chart chip of the area .
We will do multi day and week rentals .
Can message me with questions !

Laura Lee and I had one of our best vacations ever a few weeks ago aboard this boat. LL had the bright idea for me to call Marc and ask if he rented C-Dorys. He said he hadn't been, but what the heck... Amidst several ongoing boat shows, his multi-tasking staff busted butt and got the boat in proper order for rental. :thup

We enjoyed heading up the ICW west to stay overnight in Port St. Joe, toodling around the Apalachicola River and tributaries north of the pinhook turn, anchoring in the sun for the afternoon of LL's birthday off Marsh Island (SSW of Carrabelle), and me giving the onlookers at Up The Creek Raw Bar several opportunities to guffaw as I tried and tried to dock perpendicular to current and tide. We learned a lot...

After so many years of my ongoing boat project, 'twas real nice to be in a C-Dory that is right side up and in the water. Got a lot of ideas for our boat as well. After we finish core repairs and repaint LL's newly acquired West Wight Potter, I'll get back on my long-term project.

For someone considering purchasing a C-Dory, but is on the fence, this seems like a good way to really find out if a C-Dory is the right boat. A few-hour sea trial is one thing, but to really kick the tires and deal with all the systems for a few days and see how it handles in different conditions, a rental seems to me a pretty good way to go.

Anyway, thanks to Marc's willingness to consider our request and the Wefings crew for making it happen. Best thing we've done in years...

I think this is a great idea... We had a hard time deciding between a 22' or a 25'....Having the ability to rent a boat for a week sure would have helped us make our decision.

Super Dealer too..

And cheaper than towing across the country for a trial in the skinny water.

Our last night in Apalachicola, we caught Matt Law and the Usual Suspects at the Bowery Station. Fun evening... You might recognize the boat rentin' bass player...

Aw shucks guys ......
I hope we can get enough rentals to make it a "thing"
We have added the air conditioner and it's ready to go on the next adventure . Ill have a generator available for true self contained boating . That A/C will be needed soon . Makes it very comfy in the summer and has heat for our mild winters!
We will do a week or 2 or a weekend . Let us know if you have interest .

One question - if one were to purchase additional insurance, could we get more than a mile offshore? Thinking yellowfin fishing etc. Or do you have a different boat you'd rent for that?

Hey Roger if I counsel someone regarding Yellowfin fishing I would say go straight to Louisiana . There is no more consistent Yellowfin fishing perhaps in the country than out of the mouth of the Mississippi River plus lots of Blackfin Tunas and about every other thing that swims in warm water. It makes so much sense to go out with a guide. That mile from Shore thing mostly to protect us from people that don't know what they're doing. If one was to want to go fishing here between ten to 15 miles we have good bottom fishing and king and Spanish mackerel on the surface. The inshore fishing here pretty awesome as well. One thing about Florida is there are fishing opportunities everywhere. But for hardcore saltwater fishing, Louisiana rocks.
