auto piolet

The setup on my Raymarine autopilot (8002) has a choice between "planing hull" and "displacement hull" that changes the slow speed response time.

I think the Simrad AP-14 is the auto pilot I"m going to purchase[$1463.00]
from RB Marine. The installation price seems a little steep {$1050.00]
Would like to know what other peo[ple have paid.

[Hate to pay more than what us plumbers make ]

I was concerned about this but Bryan at Anacortes Marine Electronics tells me that my Raymarine autopilot uses the S1G or S2G computer. So apparently this may not be a problem for new installations like mine. Just passing this info along. Now that the weather has cleared up Bruce from AME will go out with me for a sea trial and we will test this aspect of the autopilot's performance.

OK... Saw these folks at the Seattle Boat Show again this year... they do a bunch of business on the east coast and great lakes. They have two systems, one for main engine and one for kicker...25hp and down as I recall.

Give these guys a look see....particuarly if you are a fisherman. TR-1 Gladiator is one of the two systems.

Sorry... don't know how to do the little blue line thing.
