Attaching a Airmar P66 Transducer

When i get my new trailer and pull my boat i will exchange transducers The question is: the P66 is a much heavier transducer than the one i have now, Will the mounting screw be enough to secure the transducer to the mounting board or should i also apply some 3M 4200 adhesive to the transducers mounting bracket. Will this be enough to secure the P66 or does anyone have any recommendations. Thanks

Hi Tug,

The P66 Airmar transducer has been the standard for many years now and is used by several manufacturers. The P66 just needs stainless screws for attachment and nothing else. Typically you're going at least halfway through a 1.5 to 2 inch transom with three #10 screws...it's going to hold just fine. In fact the plastic bracket would fail before the screws let loose (and it has an impact release on it).
