Another New Marinaut Owner

Yesterday after visiting with Les, asking numerous questions, taking a test ride, and of course reading this website for years decided to put a deposit down for the M215. While we are not new to boating, we are new to this style of boating. Our previous boat was a Striper 2101. It was a fantastic boat, but our needs and desires have changed. Just wanted to formally say hello and thanks to everyone who participate on this site. I'm sure my wife and I will have many of questions.

Welcome aboard! You could not do better than a Marinaut. I do agree with you about the Striper too. Lots of good boat for the money. The only thing I didn't like about ours was the graphic of a swordfish together with the word "Striper" on the hull. But that was easily removed. I do envy you the Marinaut. Congratulations on your excellent choice.

Welcome and congrats on the boat. When will you take delivery? in time for Friday harbor? I really like the new boats and you could not do better then Les as a builder. see you on the water.

Welcome aboard Michael

2 boats ago I had a Striper, then moved to the C-Dory 22 and now a Ranger Tug 27. The Striper was a good boat but did not meet our cruising needs. If you look at my album you will see my lone C-Dory at the annual Striper get together in Calif. I had a lot of Striper boaters checking out the ammenities on my boat that day. We moved to the Ranger because the wife wanted a head and shower and a bit more comfort for cruising.

Congratulations Michael,

The Marinaut is a fantastic boat, and the builders are wonderful people with whom to work. As you may know, we have production hull number one, and this will be our third season. We are enjoying her more and more every season, and we know that you will enjoy her, too.

It has been a long time since I have had a new boat, what does it feel like?

My boat is flat out old at this point, but still going strong.......in the garage 13 months out of the year.....LOL......

Thanks everyone. My wife(Glee) and I are very excited. We are not planning on taking delivery until later this summer. As with any new big purchase, mostly moments of joy followed by seconds of sheer panic.

Sounds like a natural reaction to me!

Welcome aboard, we've got a lot of good folks here that will help you when you need it and even when you don't!

Michael and Glee,

Welcome and good to have you aboard. You made a good choice. The M215 is a very well built, functionally designed and a comfortable, seaworthy vessel. You will not be disappointed. And the C-Brats, well.... what you see is what you get and it's all pretty much good. So come on, enjoy, and you can come up to Friday Harbor on a striper or on the ferry, we will still have a good time.

Michael, welcome aboard! The first time you are out on your "fair weather" day-cruise and the weatherman didn't quite get it right, you'll be amazed at the wonderful feeling you'll get while your snug and warm in the cabin heading home at an easy pace. Then when you put her to bed (the boat I'm talking about...), you'll wonder why you still have some energy left -- that's because it was a pleasant, easy-going day (...well sometimes it works that way).

Now the waiting...toughest part!

Michael and Glee,

Welcome and a special heartfelt one at that from a fellow Marinaut owner. This is a great group here and they have been very welcoming to the new kid on the block that shares a rich history with the C-Dory. Your decision is a good one and you won't be disappointed. Nor will you be disappointed with Les and his team. From personal experience and the vast postings from him and about him on this site, his knowledge, experience and his integrity will not leave you short. Enjoy the process. At times it can seem to be a little daunting but trust Les.

This group is a great resource for just about anything you need to know. Rich of the Betty Ann has been particularly helpful sharing his experience with the very first Marinaut sold both privately and on this site. We'll be taking delivery of our 215 very soon and are looking forward to getting to know her.
