Another new guy

I've been lurking on this forum for several months and since I've taken the plunge and decided to purchase a Tom Cat I thought I'd decloak and introduce myself.

I currently own a 22' Hewescraft, an aluminum runabout that is very popular with fisherfolk in the NW and Alaska. My wife and I recently moved from the Salt Lake City area to Anacortes, WA and because we wanted to be able to cruise (as opposed to boat-camp) we started looking for a new boat last year. At the Seattle Boat Show, Les Lampman answered my questions about the Tom Cat in exhaustive detail (that's good, folks!) even though, as I later found out, he is no longer selling the Tom Cat and is focusing on the C-Dory and C-Ranger line.

We narrowed our search down to the Hewescraft Alaskan and the Tom Cat, both of which have a head, a galley with a Wallas stove, and a berth. I was leaning slightly toward the Hewescraft mostly because it was less expensive and because I had firsthand knowledge of their quality. However, when the folks at Master Marine took us out for a sea trial on a Tom Cat, my wife fell in love with the boat and the rest, as they say, is (or will be) history.

I'm taking delivery of my Tom Cat on the 13th, at which time it is going over to Anacortes Marine Electronics to have a full suite of Raymarine electronics (E-120, radar, autopilot, etc.) installed. It's going to be powered by two Yamaha 150s.

I can't wait to get familiar with my new boat and get involved with the C-Brats. The support C-Dory owners provide each other here was a major factor in my decision to consider the Tom Cat.

P.S. The Hewescraft is going to Master Marine for consignment sale, so if you know anyone looking for one, send them to me or to Master Marine.

As I finished watching a couple of DVD episodes of Romulans trying to elude a net of Federation ships under the command of the Enterprise just minutes before I logged in here, I particularly enjoyed your decloaking manuver. Nicely done, Captain.

My wife and I are in the process of marketing our house to move to the other side of the water from Ancacortes (where we found a particularly good art scene at their gallery hop last Spring) to Port Angles, Townsend, Hadlock or somewheres about. Got two calls tonight and will show tomorrow to someone who didn't flinch at the asking price.

If all goes well on this end, perhaps we'll see you up there at the SBS or at least the next Sequim (Oct. '07??) C-Brats gathering.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome neighbor,

Although I am temporarily on another island for a month I will look forward to seeing you come and go from Guemes.

Aloha,

Welcome Warren,

It will be nice to have another TomCat close by. You will really enjoy the boat. Let me know if you have questions I might answer. We took delivery of our TC-255, Dreamer, in Late April.
