Hey Ya'll!
Gypsy, Brenda n' me are departing the Cedar Creek (Lone Branch) area Thursday, Thanksgiving Day for Clarksville, Tn. via the scenic Cumberland River. The plan at this writing is to converge on the area of Mt. Juliet, Tn. 37122, on Wed. evening, splash the boats and then hook up at our dock in Cedar Creek, where you will be able to shower, enjoy a campfire, :beer sleep on your boat and generally. B.S. till shove off time Thursday morning. A stop at the Nashville city dock ( reservation ) and then walk around Nashville that evening. Next stop, Friday, Riverview at Ashland City, :thup great food! Lock through Cheatam Dam Sat. morning (11-28-09) and cruise to the dock at Clarksville, goof off :cocktail :cigar , go up the hill and dine! Start back up stream Sunday morning, no hurry, and then decide on Ashland City (great Sunday buffet) for a stop or scurry into Nashville or both, then back through Old Hickory lock on Monday, 11-25-09. Care to join us for all or part of the trip?
8) We can provide miles, time frames, ect. if needed!!!

Hi Mike & Brenda
That is a great plan you all have, we want to get back up there very bad, beautiful rivers.
We have got a Family tradition we do on thanksgiving.I have all of our Family over for Breakfast or anyone is invited. My Mother did this for years, when we lost Her in 2002, by me the Oldest of 5 Sibs. I carried this on.
I checked to see if we might to catch up with you all, but we have go Resv. in Charleston SC that weekend for the Christmas Light Shows.
You all have a good time we will be thinking about you all.

:sad :beer :beer Jim

Thanks for the replies ya'll! Sure wish you could join us, and we understand this is an odd time for a cruise. We need a good, long, theraputic boat ride!!! Lots of job stress recently. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Sounds like a plan. We could meet at Ashland city, spend the night, go to Clarksville, and then we could head south (cadiz, Ky) and you could head back north. Keep me posted on the situation. John and Kathy on Prefect.

8) John! We'd enjoy the company! Our plan is super flexible as the original post was an outline, but the time frame, I was informed by my brother Byrdman, has the wrong "end" date... it should be ending the 30th! We will continue on this thread and keep ya' posted. Thanks!

Hey Gang!
Not going to be able to make the bulk of this trip...but.... I may not be all the way out.

I can help on Wednesday, 25th with getting folks launched and in the waters and shown to the over night dock/dockages/anchorages for the barn fire and fun.

Looking into possibly moving my boat down river from the Mt. Juliet (MM233-MM236 area) down river towards/into Clarksville. Clarksville has a wonderful riverwalk and Christmas light show that can be enjoyed via walking the very nice riverfront park......or even better....by a nice slow cruise past all the lights and fun. A great Christmas light show for sure.

So, I will be checking to see if I can get dockage for a month down here close to home, and close to the riverfront park. Our new Clarksville City Docks will not be opened until next spring.... too much rain kept the dirt movers from being able to do their job.

Sherryl and I will be departing Clarksville for Auburn, AL for the Auburn/Alabama Iron Bowl game .... Yall folks that aint from around here just have no idea how large of event this is and we have been blessed with tickets since my assignment to Auburn back in 1995. Ya might say....well...it is a family tradition!! We should return to Clarksville some time Sunday....ish. Loose plans. Will stay in touch with Brother Mike for travel updates....and where everyone ends up.

W A R E A G L E !!!!

John & Kathy,
We are still good to go on the Carksville run. We should be at the Clarksville City Dock on Saturday about noon or there abouts. I don't want to get too particulare with a time of arrival 'cause we will have to lock through at Cheatham. The towboat and barge traffic is a factor! We will be at Riverview (Ashland City) Friday afternoon. If need be, I will sharpen my pencil with more a specific time for Riverview as there is no lockage between there and The Nashville dock. Let us know if ya'll need a better guesstimate on the times!!!
C U Later
