Another Boat fire.

No I was thinking a lot more people who lost there homes are choosing to live on there boats. OR that all you old people are retiring and more of you are living on your boats OR its just more then years pass. Does not need to be a reason for something to happen. Just seems to be more then before. But maybe its just more news coverage because the rest of the world is going so dam well.

WOW !! That was close. Our slip is about 5 boats further out on E-dock

Luckily, the boat is still in our backyard and I'm recovering from cleaning and waxing.

Think I will have to open another bottle of recovery fluid after reading that.

And 5 minutes after I read Tom's post and wrote the reply above, US Boat called saying they had heard about the fire and wanted to know if we needed any help/assistance etc etc. :cigar :cake :thup

I was just over at that marina doing some vessel safety checks. Divers were just getting ready to lift the one boat from the bottom with air bags. Looks like three boats were totaled. Two sank. The fourth was a sailboat that they got moved with some damage. This was not under the covered part of the dock. It was out about half way and on the south side of the dock.

Thankfully no lives were lost. Boats can be replaced. The tragedy in Bellingham is that two young people lost their lives. Be careful out there.

Tom, I agree, Seems like a lot more than usual. Maybe because they are closer to home, or closer to friends but just seems too close. My friends, whose boat was severely damaged by the explosion and sinking in John Wayne marina earlier this year just recently got their boat back from Platypus after extensive repair. They are live-aboards, who just completed their first year aboard.
