Anchor Locker Cover Thoughts

Hello fellow C-Brats! New CD-22 is just about to go into the mold. Can't wait! :D We were thinking of installing a snap on style cover which would attach to the vertical section of the anchor locker up to the roof of the v-berth similar to the snap on style which covers the electronics wiring. This cover would hide the anchor rode but still allow easy access to the locker and windlass wiring. Your thoughts/comments would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like a great idea. The only issue might be ventilation for the anchor rode. Assuming that you will stow it wet, with the cover on, it would never be able to dry out. But I think it sure would look better to cover it up when the rode dries out.
Another great C-Dory idea....

If you haven't already done the cover, allow me to share what I plan to do to enlarge my anchor locker. I plan on cutting a piece of plywood that will angle aft a bit to really enlarge the area. It will stop a couple of inches or so before reaching the cabin ceiling, to provide some air circulation. I plan on epoxying it and painting it to waterproof, and then attach it to the vertical part of the factory locker with a stainless steel piano hinge. It will be held in place on the sides to the interior of the boat's hull with 2 sliding barrel bolts that will slide into small holes drilled into the inside of the hull. This will allow access to the locker in case of tangling and will also allow me to open the locker when at home to air it out and allow the rode to dry. I will post pics when the project is completed.
