An odd thing happened while towing the new boat home ...

Who would have thought it possible. A banker with a sense of humor. I can see what brought these two guys together in friendship. It may have all started way back when Jim was looking for a backer to help him find a hole of water in which to pour money. Now is has developed into a chase for the toys-r-us competition.

Whatever the case I am sure the rest of us will be entertained in the years to come and have lots of fun watching.
 
OK, more clarification is necessary. When Tom and I first met on a sailing forum over 10 years ago, I was gainfully employed. I had a lot of toys... an airplane, a couple sports cars, motorcycles, a sailboat, a diesel motorhome. Then came the decision to retire and downsize. I continued to work, but started disposing of the toys. We knew boating and RVing would be a part of our retirement. These days, I'm guessing Tom is way ahead on the toy "race."

Bill & El and I may not always see eye-to-eye on how to simplify, but I really have made serious inroads compared to my former ways. Tom may be chasing the "ghost of toys past." :wink: The real interesting aspect of this situation will be if Tom sees the joys in the utilitarian little boats we all enjoy. These days, my wants are more simple: a boat to cruise with the Blonde and a cat; an RV for the extended land traveling; and the time to enjoy it all. And the friends we've made along the way.

Hope I didn't mess up any of your goals, Tom. :wink:

PS Mike, ol' buddy, Tom has a great sense of humor. If this 16 gets him to write more, then we will all benefit from his decision.

The name is still open to deep, thoughtful debate. Adoryble was knne jerk reaction to a cute boat that a fellow sailor kept calling a "puppy".

Might have to paint it pink if I actually used that name. NOt that there's anything wrong with that....
