I’ve posted a new article on Examiner.com, this one a travel article entitled “Lake Powell: an oasis in the desert, in Arizona and Utah.” Of course, it includes many photos of that beautiful place, with 5 of them showing C-Dories, from the gatherings we attended in September, 2009, and September, 2013, and one with a group of C-Brats at Rainbow Bridge, taken during the gathering in 2009. We so enjoyed meeting such fun people and getting acquainted with that wonderful lake! And we really appreciated the help everyone gave us, especially during the 2009 gathering, as we were very much “newbies.”
 
Thanks so much, El and Bill, for your comment on my article. That's high praise coming from y'all who have done so MUCH excellent travel writing. We've really enjoyed your blogs.

And meeting you two was one of the highlights of our trip to Lake Powell in 2009. You're such inspirations! (Hope you don't mind my including the Rainbow Bridge photo that includes y'all.) Most fascinating was getting to follow you down the lake in our boat and hear, on our radio, you narrating the geology that we were seeing. A fabulous experience! We know your history with the canyon and how much you love it. I hope my article will encourage many who haven't been there to go and form their own bond with it.

Hope you're enjoying your "retirement" from boating. The land has its own charms, doesn't it?
