After lurking on this site since 2003, reading till my eyes blur, the stars are aligned and boat, location and finances have aligned.
I will be on C-Nile for a sea trial tomorrow at 0900. If all goes as planned, I will be cruising L.I. Sound the weekend of the 4th.
There is a life time of cruising experience to be had from Watch Hill to NYC, and I fully expect to poke my bow in every cove along the way.
Most of my boating life has been spent inside Fisher's Island Sound in open craft under 15 hp, so the 16' Cruiser is spot on for my needs. I will be moored in Wequetequock Cove, which at low tide sees around 12" of water at my mooring.
So, I will have countless newbie questions, which you will all have answered 100's of times. Just point me the post that I didn't find, or was too dumb to understand.
I can easily state that a notable factor in wanting a C-Dory is the terrific support from this site. Such a vast knowledge base, contributed by thoughtful, well-meaning and friendly people is hard to find.
Finally, those New England events may be in reach!
