Does anyone know how to release the sensor from the housing, i tried inserting a screwdriver where it said to and pushed up but it doesn't rotate up. Anyone have any ideas. Tug

it takes a lot of force but will release just fine with out damage. nice steady pull with increased force until it pops.

I broke mine doing that, Tom. Guess I'm not as sensitive, or gentle as a Marine!

I finally gave up trying to open it.I figured i would break it so i took the transducer to my friend who works at the Yamaha dealership. He just rammed a screwdriver into the adjusting slots at the back and popped her open, a bit rough but it didn't break. I installed the P66 without using the backing shim, that seemed like it would give me the best fit.I heading down to the marina to see if it works, not sure if the speed sensor works, i spun the paddle wheel and didn't get any output. Will post later and tell you if it works. Just got back from trying out my new P66, it didn't come off the transom, works great and there seems to be more bottom detail.I forgot to notice if the speed reading was showing on the screen, next time.Tug
