Advice-Replacing trailer bunks

I’ve replaced my bunks with new boards and attaching hardware, and plan to load the boats back on tomorrow.

Although the height looks spot on, the bunk angle doesn’t seem right. I matched the angle to what I replaced, but it doesn’t look quite right.

I’m thinking of slightly loosening the angle bolts, loading the boat on, and letting the boat adjust the angle, and then re-tighten the bolts.

Anyone have any tricks?
 
Be sure and use Monel metal staples. They are far more corrosion resistant than the SS staples on the bunk covering.

Yes, jack the boat up. leave the bolts on the tilt slightly loose, and then tighten when the boat's weight is on the boards. Sometimes you will get best support with a slight twist of the bunks.
 
Thanks Doc, I was hoping you’d have an answer.

I’ve done a full wrap slick, instead of carpet. It’s installed with SS screws on the underside.

I launch a lot, and I’m trying to make it as easy as possible.

Are there any other things to consider about a full bunk slip wrap, other than it’s extreme slipperiness that I should consider/remember?
 
Extra strap across the cockpit, plus the stern straps to "tow" eyes, for the slicks. I had about 1/3 forward slicks for the Tom Cat, and it really made it easier to launch. I am going to consider slicks on the target bunks on the 25.

Good on the SS screws. Definitely you want the slicks to conform to the boat, so that you have the most surface area. The slicks will rub the bottom paint if you have any.
