Today I added disc brakes to the second axel of our CD25 trailer. The original trailer was built by a now out of business supplier and only had one set of disc brakes on the first axel. It may have been grandfathered in Fla . The one set seemed to stop the boat fine even on a steep downhill grade. But GA has the all wheel brake law on anything over 3,000 lbs. That rule is only enforced in the breach and is never inspected. We have lots of people pulling back hoes on 4 wheeled trailers with no brakes and they are never stopped.
The axel already had the flange on it so all I had to do was take off the hub, bolt the caliper holder on ,and the put on the disc and the Kodiak 225 caliper. I used the Tie Down add an axel set of flex. lines. I ordered the parts from Tailer Depot and had good service .
