A/C on a 22 Cruiser

Hello all.....We just ordered a new 22 Cruiser and am hoping to take delivery the end of October. We will be shipping it down on the barge to our home on Little Cayman (pop. 100). We can't wait to bring C-Dory to a new country!!
One of the many reasons I love the boat is that I need a/c for our commute to the neighboring island to shop for food and supplies. Usually rough water for the 7 miles and a slow 8 mph trip.
Has anyone ever heard of a/c in a 22'? I was looking at the Dometic hatch mount unit but it doesn't seem to be made to use while traveling. I'm now looking at a Mermaid Marine Air that I hope will mount in the sink/stove cabinet. Does anyone know the size of that cabinet? I'm ordering the boat without a stove. The a/c unit is 16" long x 12" wide x 12 high. I'm told it will run off a Honda EU1000 but will probably get a EU1500.
And one other question. I'm looking at an autopilot. I like the Raymarine Sportpilot. It seems very easy to install. Any comments from you veterns?

Curiously there is an A/C for small boats, or used to be: www.coolcurrents.net. Could be out of business, for I can't rise it in the Web.

I was a small unit that used water temperature at depth. Heat exchanger. But it was to be used al anchor. Throw a hose overboard down to the bottom and tap the cool down there, bring it up to the boat.

In any case, it's not what you are looking for, but it's does open the chance for chat :smiled

If you get it, let me know if it's any good. My wife will not get in the boat if it's nos slightly above freezing. I don't know what the heck she's doing down here in the tropics (apart from being born here) At nigh she puts the thermostat at 18° C. I wake up with icicles in my throat. :sad. Worse yet, if I try to get over to her side and warm up, it will only last until I've thawed out, then it's back to my cold bunk.
