30' C-Dory?

was in Neah bay this weekend and seen a huge cdory on the trailer getting ready to launch. later it turns out they were moored a few docks down, went to help him catch the boat one evening. I originally had figured it was a 26 ocean pro, he told me it was a 30' and that they had only made two of them before the owners at that time went under. it sat high in the water also and had bow thrusters. I was not aware they made a 30' boat. it was pretty sweet looking and looked well taken care of i did not ask what year it was.

The only 30 footer I am aware of is the 30 foot catamaran. C Dory made a few, and the molds went to Black Feather Marine, and the Chilkat was made for those molds. Mostly used for sport fishing in AK--

The 29 might be called a 30 by some--that boat had an inboard, tunnel drive, and bow thruster. My suspicion is that you saw a 29. There were only a few of those.

There is one in Marysville and they look huge! I've seen it at Cornet Bay and out shrimping in SJs.
How was fishing at Neah Bay? I'm heading to Sekiu Jul 20-24.

It wasn't a 30' model it was one of the infamous 29' models that came from the Reynolds era of the factory. I think there were around 10-12 of those things made (according to an old thread).

yup looks just like the one in the link, he called it a 30 but looks to be a 29. fishing was slow for us on kings Coho were around. we tried three times to get outside but each time one of the kids didn’t hang. so we fished inside. we usually would of gone to CQ but given the ratio of wild to hatch and the amount of black mouth present we figured we go where wild kings were game. Was a lot slower fishing trip than ones we usually have but then again it had been 8-9 years since we fished out there. thanks to Roger though he got us up to date on intel. we will prolly be back in CQ Sunday if the wind is fair.

also got to use my radar overlay for the first real time this weekend. man it makes it easy having it on the plotter vs the old way on a circle

Here is the first pix of several in that thread. Hard to see the scale here, but I was on than boat once, (at the factory) and standing in the galley hallway you can barely see out over the bottom of the front windows.

Here is a pix of a C-Dory, working crabber, a center console I see here and there around the peninsula. Based in Hansville, Ben has had this boat for 12-15 years and runs it for commercial crabbing. Likes the seaworthyness. Last saw him over in Mystery Bay.

Jim, if you use that method to calculate boat length, I've got 80 feet of boat. C-Dory 22' + 15' sailboat, + two 10' kayaks, + two 8' sailing dinghy, + 7' inflatable. Anyone want to buy a boat. :-)

Terry, Thanks man. I feel so much better now. I just found out I've got 50ft. now I don't have to worry about 2 foot itis.

Let's see. 22' C-Dory Cruiser + 17' Pygmy Arctic Tern kayak + 15' row & sail CLC Skerry + 14' Pygmy Arctic Tern kayak + 10 1/2' Advanced Elements inflatable kayak + 8 1/2' Feathercraft BayLee 3 inflatable dinghy + last and least, a 10' POS Sevylor Tahiti alleged kayak I've foisted off on my unsuspecting children.
This adds up to 87' of best in class boats + a 10' turd.
I'm such a whore. Normally I don't carry on as such but tonight I have a snoot full of Fort George Brewery Spruce Budd. One of the best beers I've ever had. They used 400 pounds of Washington State spruce buds making this batch.
Carry on. :cocktail

Even with your calculation, you are still smaller than some of the boats we encountered at Roche Harbor this weekend. Amazing how much $$$ was attached to the docks there. We even saw a 3 level power catamaran that was 80+ feet long and 20+ wide. Complete with statues inside!!!

Any c-dory owners got statues?
