25 Cruiser vs Venture 26

I've read what threads I could find on Ventures, but did not really find anything on the Venture 26. Any thoughts on the advantages or disadvantages of that boat vs a 25 Cruiser would be of interest.

My wife saw a Venture yesterday and liked it, but has not yet seen a 25 cruiser.

From my point of view, the biggest difference is the gunwales on the Venture are wider; therefore, the cabin is narrower.

I own a CD 25 (and Tom Cat) as well as having seen a Venture 26. I agree that the narrower cabin width on the Venture 26 is a real disadvantage. There is a slightly sharper entry and perhaps an insignificant increase in deadrise on the Venture over the CD 25. The Venture has a headliner and is fancier. I consider this to be a disadvantage, since it cannot be "hosed out" as the simpler C Dories can be. The headliner and fancy wood work will detiorrate in time. The utilitarian interior of the CD 25 will remain the same thru the life of the boat.

Basically you need to see and ride in both boats before you make your decision.
