yes my boat which was hull #3 had a 120 hp rating but as they started building these Great boats by the Original c-dory builders (some of the c-dory craftsmen working days on the c-dory factory came to work the cape cruiser line that evening )I would not worry about putting a 150 hp on her but f115 is fine I get 32-33 mph and get about 4mpg .

When cape cruiser lost its legal fight with c-dory The cape cruiser was now a c-dory .The same mold that made my boat made your Venture . The only difference is the insulation vinyl and lots more nooks and crannies storage drawers and water heater .DD its a nicer boat with more amenities and worth the 10k difference over a c-22 . ON the used market it's almost the same price as the c-22 cruiser.Thats why I posted in the first place to give Jiml the option of getting either a new or used Venture23.So I guess the Cape cruiser is the B---------- child of the tolands but we are definatly cousins.

Aren't our boats great. The ergometrics are different. I don't fit a C-Dory 22 cruiser. I do fit my 23 ft Cape Cruiser.

The boat is really designed to sleep 3. Two in the V-berth and one when the table is made into a bed. With small kids, you might be able to squeeze two on the dinette sleeper but it would be tight. The best alternative (IMHO) is a good camper back with one on a cot in the cockpit and one on the dinette. Others have modified their boats to convert the galley side into an additional bed also but that wouldn't be my first choice if I wanted to sleep 4. Sleeping 4 is tough in the 25 also. In the Tomcat, the forward berth is so large one could sleep 3 on it and one on the dinette.

Camper back, or even slant back with air cushions and sleeping bags for the kids. They'll have a blast! And on nice nights, leave the cover off for the open air and starry skys.
