hi, I have this boat for sale, its used just for two times in the water and I wanna know if I'm in the right forum to post it..

Well, you're close. The right forum is " C-Dory Boats For Sale By Owner". You can get there by clicking on 'Forums' in the masthead above, just under the little boat picture. Then scroll down to the correct forum. Note the year, size, model and price in the subject. Good luck.

its used just for two times in the water and .........
less than 100 hours of use,

Let's see. First post. Used less than two times (in the water, no less) for less than 100 hours. Of course there are those long Alaskan days. Lot of funny stuff coming out of Wasilla, AK.

i was thinking the same thing. in my neck of the woods, if one logs on 60 hours, that's regarded as a good season. two times out, less than 100 hrs, man this guy knows how the cruise.
ok, so i too recently sold my boat. i casually mentioned i was going to sell it in a post on a tread that i didn't start, and had 3 interested parties contact me. one of which made an offer, was accepted and sold within 48 hours, or there about.
good luck.

ok, i understand, and since this sounds like a lightly used nice boat i'm willing to offer $89,000. sight unseen. i realize that this offer is greater than the value of your boat so i ask that you take what is fair and send me a certified check for the overage. please do so immediately and when i receive my over payment i will make arrangements to have the boat shipped to me.
thank you kindly,

Let's cut the guy a little slack. This could potentially be an actual attempt to sell a C-Dory.

Thanks, Roger. I am all for giving the benefit of any doubt to anyone on here. Judging from the PM I got, the guy is just trying to sell his boat.

i received an email from the owner, he appears to be genuine and i responded to his email by suggesting that he post again and give more details, pictures etc. no harm done, we all have thick skin, comes with being boaters, doesn't it? i've never been offended by any response from any poster. it's not about making fun rather than having fun.

i just received another email form the boat owner. he needs help posting pictures. i suggested that he contact tyboo for assistance as i have never posted a picture within a post and am not sure exactly how to do that. just so we are on the same page, i mentioned we are all good guys and no harm was intended.

I don't know if there is anyone else huda thunk it -- and I'm probably wrong -- pretty darn elaborate for a joke, then again, some alter egos get a kick out of provoking bad C-Brat behavior -- but this gentleman sounds more like Martin's doryling cousin than LeRoy Avila who is a pistachio farmer in California. Like Roger, my first thought was he was pounced on unfairly -- so if I'm piling on and wrong about the diction, I extend my sincere apology and my assurance that I intend no harm.

I stared at this for several minutes while my gut advised me not to hit submit. If you're reading it, I must not have listened.

Devyndivine,

It's unfortunate that your first post got the reaction it did. Occasionally we get spammer/scammers on the site trying to take advantage of us or sell things so we are suspicious of postings that raise flags. Having said that, here are some things that raised flags for me and made me doubt you:

--unusual descriptions that don't make a lot of sense

--you don't seem to know the boat or its equipment.

--your price is way unrealistic. You are asking more than the boat would have cost new.

--None of us seem to have heard of you before this unusual post. Now that's not a bar to doing anything but in the past we've seen similar posts that were scams so we are suspicious.

If indeed you are just a person trying to sell a boat folks here will be glad to help you find the right spot on the site to do that but you might help us a little:

Is this your boat?
Where/when did you buy it?
Be more specific about usage, i.e. just two times and 100 hours doesn't make much sense
Look over your posts to make sure they are correct and clear

This is not an interrogation but we are jealous of the good name of this site and the boats

If we can get this on an even keel, I would be glad to recommend that one of my friends in Anchorage take a peek at the boat. He is interested in a CDory after seeing and riding in mine.
