The following ad appeared in the JAN 06 isue of BOATUS magazine: "22' Cape (sic) Dory cruiser 1999. 90hp Honda, only 170 hrs. Stored inside, GPS, CD/radio, Lowrance X75, stove, sink, frig, toilet, screens. Extras. Hitchhiker trailer. $31,000 [+ contact info]." The price seemed fair, the boat very well cared-for, and her proud new owners are Cassandra and Bill Woodhouse, of Hampstead, NC.

Congratulations on your new C-Dory, Cassandra and Bill!

Have you been in the market for a C-Dory long?

What uses are ypu planning for your new boat?

Have any friends with C-Dorys?

Welcome aboard!

Joe.

Many thanks to all for the warm welcome! We had been looking for a new(er) boat for a while, but the B-US ad got us to thinking about a CD (which a phone call verified it was). Cassie tracked down the CD website, and that led to a mid-JAN visit to Carrie and Gene Wooster, in the Bayboro area, our only NC dealership. They were extremely helpful, and we considered a new one, but the company perfected the 22 a while back, as did Honda the 4 stroke, so we decided to check out the '99 in Florida. A few features are missing, but then we did the math.
I will be fishing offshore for king mackerel, etc. and running CG Auxiliary patrols and training. Together, Cassie and I will do some cruising up and down the ICW, across Onslow Bay to Beaufort and Cape Lookout, and eventually, beyond. In June we will trailer to Key Largo and spend a week fishing and snorkeling with daughter Susan and son-in-law Rob.

You will love it! How far do you have to travel to find the King Mac's out there?

Someday I would love to try for them. They look like a lot of fun!

Congratulations Bill and Cassandra on your new boat. Sounds like you got a good deal on it.

You now belong to one of the best groups on the net and have one of the best boats on the market.

I try to keep the C-Dory charts updated. Charts Link. If you don’t mind, I would like to know the color of the boat for the charts and the HIN number. Your boat will be added to the charts at the next update, and the requested information would make it complete.
Thank you

CD's are pretty much unknown here in the land of the Grady, Parker, Rampage, Albermarle, May-Craft, Regulator and dozens more. There used to be a 16 around here, but other than the ones at the dealership, it is the only one I have actually ever seen. Ours (decision on name pending) has green trim, and her HIN is DOR22816K899. The kings are sometimes close to shore and are caught from the piers, but as sight feeders, they like clear water. I have done best from 10 NM out to about 14, which is as far as I have gone on my own boat. The key is hitting all the known wrecks, artificial reefs and ledges, preferably trolling vigorous live baits, and having the luck to be in the right place when the bite turns on. Thanks again to all for your cordial greetings! Bill & Cassie
