22' Cruiser in Chop, + etc.

Not all parkers are deep V hulls. Many models have the modified Vee 16 degree deadrise hull, that is more economical and doesn't roll like a deep V.

I have neck issues from an old injury, and there was times in our 22' c-dory that were really unbearable, running through chop. Yes you can slow down, but if you have those types of issues it can be really painful. I am 100% more comfortable in those conditions now, the ride is that much better.

I do miss some of the economy now that I've switched to a bigger boat. We're averaging around 2.8 mpg running at 30 knots in our parker. Our old c-dory seemed to get around 4 mpg but running at half the speed. Lets face it though, boating is expensive. The fuel cost is just a small part of it in reality.

I don't mean to bag on c-dory, they are an incredible boat and we absolutely loved ours like a member of the family. We'll probably get another one day. That issue in chop is their only weakness, but for someone any kind of back or neck issues, it can be a pretty big deal.

I know some of us who carry a porta-potti that is several years old and never been used. We have only used ours once or twice in 6 years of C-Dory ownership. But I always go out with the P-P full of water. Gives extra weight in the bow and you can always move it around if you want to.

Wefings is very much alive. NMI wants their dealers to carry a full line of new boats. Wefing's I believe still has a Tom Cat 27 they ordered almost a year ago.
Marc Grove owner of Wefings, felt it was in his best interest not to carry the full line, and so the franchise was given to Three Rivers Marine--who had been the area dealer before Wefings was a dealer.

Wefings is still very much part of the c Dory family. He carries consignment C Dorys. He also is a very active Rosborough dealer--and told me a little about a new re-designed 22' pilot house boat.

Looking at his listings, he has the new Tom Cat 255 and a 2009 22 listed, and a C Dory 25, listed as "sale pending". I am sure other c Dory owners will continue to use his services as a broker to sell their boats.

What Bob and Brent said. Im sure we will have more C Dory transactions in the world of brokerage than we have had as a new dealer in the last few years. Not much difference between a 10 year old C Dory and a new one except price. And thats a bigger difference every year. Ill let someone else educate the world with a classroom full of new boats. Ill sell them used ones when they graduate !
