22' CC C-Dory

There is a 22' Skiff C-Dory for sale in Eastpoint Fla. I'm tire kicking and don't want to take up Wefings time but I am curious about the skiff/center console description. The C-Dory site doesn't mention a skiff or a center console. Anyone who is knowledgeable about this model is asked to shed some light on it.

Thanks,

the cc was built for a few years under the old company. I have never been in one but it looks like a decent fishing boat. It would have all the good qualitys of a c-dory. Low fuel use, low power reguired, easy to handle and it should draw even less water with the weight of the cabin removed. If you are in the market for a cc I dotn see why you would not want to consider the c-dory.

The cc did not sell well for a lot of reasons but mostly because cdory at that time was trying to break into a different market and really did not have enought time before going belly up to give this boat a chance. Never saw a review of it in one magazine or even at a boat show ( it might have happened but i did not see it.) combined with the fact that there was little or no support from the c-brat on it was not a issue. Its was not a boat that any of use would be considering if we are looking for a light weight crusieing boat. It was just a different animal. Now that said I might get one over a 16 if i was going use it just for a day fisher in the south or even up here. I like to fish out of a open boat as the weather does not bother me. almost all of the guide boats at many resorts are boston whaler, which fit the same function. So if you are looking at a open boat for day fishing you could do worse.

Ah come on , give me a call ! I dont bite . And anybody that knows me knows I never get tired of talking about boats !
I ran one for a couple years , so I can speak from experience .

The CC are far more popular on the Gulf Coast, and East Coast. Most are fairly deep "V", and ride well in chop. There are also some cats made in CC--my Caracal is one of those.

C'mon Vinny! Call Marc! Remember what I told you when you looked at Thataway in the parking lot in GA? He's a straight up guy and you need a boat!

I saw a 22 Center Console, and fit and finisher were nice.

It was an odd boat that didn't fit with the rest of the C-Dory line- mainly cabin boats.

The boat will share all of the strengths and weaknesses of the 22 Cruiser or Angler hull- easy to push through the water, pound in a chop if driven too fast.

Most of the center console buyers want high speed to get out to the fish, or for water sports. moving at 12 knots in a chop is fine when you're inside a cabin sitting down. But outside in the elements is a different story all together.

The boat certainly fills a niche, and if it will do what you want the way you want, it could be a very good value.

65 gallons in the belly tank and the trim tabs make a big difference on the center console. I could pass some of the V bottom center consoles on the way back in the afternoon chop. And I know I burned less fuel!

Joan and I took a C-Dory 22cc out when we were in Apalachicola a few years ago - great boat for a specific use. It reminded me of a cc Panga (a popular boat in the Tropical Tip). Marc is the man - give him a call.

Best wishes,
Jim B.
