Hi all, I got a chance to look at the 2017 Tomcat that Master Marine was showing at the Seattle boat show and it looks like there have been some changes made. So for those Tomcat lovers out there, I have tried to highlight the changes I saw compared to my 2007 and put a photo file “2017 TOMCAT “in the OffLeash photo album.

• One of the biggest changes is the outboard mount is now being made near the plant and they say it is bigger and more buoyant it adds floatation on the back of the boat and makes it ride a little higher.
• It looks like they changed the interior somewhat. I think they are using the mold for the 25. The port aft seat is now narrower than the forward port seat and the table has the same offset shape as the 25 rather than the traditional rectangle. The seats also seem to be higher than the older versions
• They added drain canals from the fish tank gutters to the cockpit drain…(YEA!!!!) if it rides higher maybe this will keep some of the water out of the fish holds so we can use it for dry storage
• They moved away from the guess charger and went to the ProNautic 12-20 charger
• The moved the port water tank forward a few inches to the bulkhead and cut a viewing slot so you can see how much water you have…(I have to use a plastic mirror to see my water level now). The water pump has also been moved to the same bulkhead for easier access.
• The access hatches below the table and in front of the navigator’s seat are much smaller
• The back of the electric panel has been covered with a hard wall with an access panel rather than fully open and covered with a curtain. Not sure if this is good or bad
• It does have the vinyl head liner and hull blanket like some of the post 2007’s did and it looks nice but many like the plane interior that is kept clean with nothing more than a Clorox wipe. In some parts of the boat like the head where there is no vinyl or hull blanket they use a treatment that looks kind of like the 1960’s popcorn ceiling. It is white and looks nice but may be a bit hard to clean.
No matter if you like these particular changes or not it is good to see some improvement from the factory.
