Maybe all the pictures that did not make the cut for the calendar can be added to the image rotation on the home page. Those images have not changed for a llllllooooooonnnnnngggggg time.

I pointed that out about 3-4 years ago, but to no avail (!)

I agree that they have been there for a while, but I remember when the guys made the call for those pictures, the it was a huge process and considerable effort to set that up and put it together.

Another option would be for a link or button on the home page, (maybe down in the "links" box, to take a user directly to the submissions album, and then maybe a choice for which year submissions to look at.

I love the boat photos and enjoy looking through the albums, but these would be a much more specific category.

Looking at the page it appears that there is a directory where the photos are called from, apparently at random. There are 55 pictures in the rotation. Expect for one picture, all the photos were loaded in 4/2008.

It would seem to me (but I could be wrong) that placing additional photos in that directory would allow the new photos to be part of the rotation. The only issue would be that the new calendar photos might need to be resized and/or file type changed. There are programs that will do that for batches of photos (e.g. Fastone).

No you are correct. When that directory was created, Bill (Da Nag) asked people to contribute photos that they wanted to display on the home page. It hasn't been changed much since around that time. Bill may or may not have the time to put a bunch of new photos in but my guess is that he would if people indicated what photos they wanted to have on the front page (and if those were available on the site).

Ready to Order!

(Dated item deleted.)

We had just under 100 photo submissions this year. Cindie and I went through them looking for a variety of places and boats combined with good shots and good "feeling" scenes. There are a few in there from the same sources, but they show different boats so that was more important to us. We had no 16ft models in any of the submitted photos, so next year, we need at least one good 16 angler or cruiser shot.

I am not sure why it doesn't show the little preview link below the image but maybe that becomes available a bit later? Hmmm

Greg

Bringing this back up for the weekend cruisers. I think the preview is working now. Might need to scroll down to teh bottom of the first picture though.

Just got ours and some of the banner items sure didn't scale similarly. This year, we had the largest range of resolutions with some really large files which is good, but next time I think I need to standardize them all back down into one input frame size to keep the pixel based graphics from getting out of hand.

No plan yet on how to share the other photos on the site but the admins are in the loop now and considering it.

Thanks Greg!! Great job
We got our calendar already and were very pleased to see Kerri On cruising a misty Broughton day for January. That great shot was by Harvey Hochstetter on Sleepy C
Thanks again Harvey that was a fun cruise
Merry Christmas C Brats

Just got mine yesterday as well. WOW, what fun. Lots of good memories and a bunch more new "goals" to hit.

George, Thanks for the nod, and for the super subject matter. It was great cruising with you two, and looking forward to it again, down the way.

38 of the 2016 units are sold as of today and there were 34 2015 sold by this time last year so we are on track. Another 15 or so ship out in the next 45 days then its all over until next year.

About 50 per year is what we sell and that is good enough for me and gives you an idea of the donation raising potential although I think there might be increased sales if the need was there. Low cost, high enjoyment!

Greg

Thanks Greg, and yes, really low cost for an interest specific and beautiful calendar. Frankly, I am really surprised at those numbers. I thought they would be considerably higher given the number of C-Dorys, and CBRATS and even though "We have 6896* registered users" obviously not anywhere near that many active or regular ones, I was expecting higher.

Some possible uses:

Gifts to family, maybe they will see your boat, or think they do
Gifts to your Boat Mechanic
Gifts to your Marina
Gifts to your Yacht Club meeting room
Gifts to those who provide sponsored prizes for your CBGT
How about the manufacture placing one in each new boat.
Or, placing one in your boat when you sell it
Or, have a permanent link to the Lulu site on the CBRAT home page
Or, keep one on the boat, in the window next to the moorage sticker.
Or, maybe someone else has some more and better ideas.

* Number taken from the CBRAT home page User info window.
