2016 C-Brat Calendar

There were 65 calendars ordered last year and I am guessing you all might like a 2016 version!

Start digging through those photo 2015 archives and scouring your photo collecting devices for calendar worthy material.

Send high resolution pictures to me (findmeoutside@hotmail.com) before November 30th and I will plan to publish the calendar in time for the first weekend in December.

More details:

Above 1650x1275 would be ideal but as big as you can reasonably take with your camera is acceptable to me.

JPG, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, or Bitmap will all be fine with me.

Most accounts can send/receive 20-50mb of attachments per message currently but if you need to break your submissions into multiple messages, that is not a problem for me. I am a highly trained email manipulator.

If you want to limit each message to about 25MB combined, that would be generally safe on both sides.

Most contributors in the past sent 1-3 photos total.

Just send me a PM if you are having any difficulties and I can talk to you by phone and get those pics moving my way.

I am planning to hit the 10 dollar mark again with a 8 1/2x11 landscape page size.

Please put "Calendar" somewhere in the subject line and include the following in your email for each pic:

-Photographers C-Brat username
-General location where the photo was taken
-Name of any C-Dory's in the picture (if it's not obvious)

Last year's version as an example result:

Go ahead and just respond to this post with any questions or ideas.

Prompt for pictures! I will likely pop the thread back up at the end of each week as a reminder for folks. I only have a few pics so far.

Greg

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures this year! Oh how far I have fallen! However, I bought a new Nikon D3300 in Hong Kong on our China trip, I WILL get cracking for the 2017 calendar!

Not quite ready. I am having some issue with the lulu studio tools supporting about half of the final images. I need to do more troubleshooting tomorrow and I will publish as soon as they go through correctly.

Greg

Thanks Greg, Your effort is appreciated. Is there something that needs to be done with the submissions, on our end to you, that would make it easier for you?

Nothing else on the contributor side Harvey but thanks for the offer. The Lulu project toolset is rejecting a few of the images and I have a support case in motion to resolve it.

We had just under 100 photo submissions this year. Cindie and I went through them looking for a variety of places and boats combined with good shots and good "feeling" scenes. There are a few in there from the same sources, but they show different boats so that was more important to us. We had no 16ft models in any of the submitted photos, so next year, we need at least one good 16 angler or cruiser shot.

I am not sure why it doesn't show the little preview link below the image but maybe that becomes available a bit later? Hmmm

Greg

Greg,. WOW, you and Cindy did great. Super selections, what a wide variety of C-Dory experiences represented. I’m surprised at such few entries. I was thinking maybe we should look at a week by week version, to get more pictures. What fun it would be to go to all those places. 8)

The 25% discount code has to be in all caps and no space to work. Everybody else probably already knew that. Do we need to put CBRATS into the organization space in the order blank?

I ordered.

No need to input C-brats for an order. Just order as you would anything on the web and I hope they come out well in printed form. I keep a basic count of the pics as they come in and there are easily 50% that are calendar ready. It takes some tough choices to narrow the field and I am sure the results would vary by the individual. I have considered posting all the pics to a C-Brats album and having people vote with comments, but I am not sure that would be better. It is about a 12 hour job already and until I retire, I will lean toward paring it down vs. making it harder. So long as the feedback is positive, I will keep it up, and I am always open to ideas.

Greg

Thanks for the reply Greg. You do a nice job with it an I really appreciate your effort. There is probably no way to add an extra dollar charge to the price and have that go back to the CBRAT tip jar is there? I wasn't thinking of making more work for you when I mentioned a week-by-week one. I think posting the submissions to a 2016 Cal Submissions Album would be nice, and just put them in the album. Skip the voting, you do the work, you get to make the choice.

Glad to see they will be here by Christmas. Happy 2016.

Thanks Harvey, Jim, and Rob. The cost of the calendar can be adjusted upward proceeds could go to the site. If everyone is interested in that concept it would be very easy to do next time.

Maybe all the pictures that did not make the cut for the calendar can be added to the image rotation on the home page. Those images have not changed for a llllllooooooonnnnnngggggg time.
