nickyn99,

Best of luck to you and your 1st mate in your search for just the right C-Dory at the right price made in the right year, what ever it happens to be.
My CD is a 2005 ProAngler 26' which is kind of a one off or "bastard stepchild" as I tell people. I learned in this thread that 2005 models were good/bad or ???. All I know is that after having mine for 18 months it is a sweet boat and I like it a lot. As I bought it in Florida sight unseen I had it surveyed ($500)by an official marine surveyor there and relied on his inspection. He did an ok job but did miss some things. Nothing serious that I could not correct myself.

Again...........good luck.

Nice Halibut Jack!!!!!!!!!

We have a 2008 22 and have absolutely no problems
About 5 weeks on the boat last year and 175 hours on the Hull. About 4 weeks and 150 hours on the Hull this year. They are such simple boats that I just can't see what could go wrong - outside of major Hull problems.

Also, we love our molded interior and would have paid extra to get it.

Just wanted to give the other side to the newer boat debate.

Bottom line - just buy it - you'll love it...

Marc

Thanks Marc for the info but for another $3,000.00 I get 3 feet more of boat, more equipment and better seating options (my thoughts). AND, it is 2 hours away from where I live if I decide to go with the 22' which is what I want.
Cheers - Nick

I'm going to toss in our 05 info. 22 Cruiser bought without a survey but it only had 80 hours on it. The twin Yami 40's were still under warranty. We have 68 nights on board, (not to bad for only getting weekends off work), have added nearly 400 hours to the engines. We love the boat, and it is perfect for us. No serious problems. Main complaint, Few gel coat cracks in the steps in the cockpit, and the lack of an effective anchor locker drain.

We purchased this boat from a central California owner, who had had 34 boats in his life time, and this was to be his retirement boat. (I think by then he knew what was good, what was not and what would do the trick, and the trip.) Planning to fish his way to Alaska and back. Unfortunately he was unable to accomplish that goal, and we were the benefactors of his expertise.

Love my 05,

Harvey
