There are a couple of these boats for sale in Auburn WA. Look alot like c-dory's. Apparently made by Toland, not C-dory. Does anyone know anything about these boats?

Use the search function at the top of the page and search for "marinaut 26" Use "all words" and search for posts, not topics. You'll find all you want to know about "Ben Tolands Next Boat"

nielc-

Ben Toland along with our very own Oldgrowth Dave are designing and building the molds to go into production for a new boat called the Marinaut, but it is a 20.5 footer, and not available yet, still in the mold building process. The Mauranaut 26 is still in the early formative design process, and probably a few years away from production.

Your advertising source probably has a couple of Cape Cruiser 26's that were built by Ben Toland a few years back, and has chosen to give them the Marinaut designation.

The Cape Cruiser 23 and 26 are well built boats, but a court suit brought by C-Dory's last owners a few years ago, cited infringement of the C-Dory design that forced Cape Cruiser to quit building and turn over the molds to C-Dory. C-Dory is now building the Venture 23 and 26 out of those molds with an ungraded, more luxurious interior.

If you look at the ads for the new Maurinaut in the changing box in the upper right corner of the Homepage, you can get an idea of the new boat's different design. Link HERE.

Comparison of CD-22 and Cape Cruiser 23 HERE.

Look up Cape Cruiser on our search engine and there's more to this story if you're up to it!

Joe.

Thanks every one!

I really like that boat. As you can probably tell, I'm not all that computer literate. Just don't know much about boats or values either. I found a person on this site named Forrest who has one of these boats. Hopefully I can learn from his experience.

Neil-

I'm curious now!

Please let us know exactly what the Maranaut 26's turn out to be (e.g., C-Dorys, Cape Cruisers, Maranauts, or ______?), and the size or model.

Joe. :teeth :thup

Both these boats were made by cape cruiser in 2006 and 2007 the 23 was called a venture the 26 was called a maranaut I think the major difference was the head compartment and closet behind the sink and the dinette area

This is definitely the CC 26. It looks like they put a Honda 150 on it. Seems kinda small...

First time I've seen pictures of it from the inside looking aft. I always thought they had a level floor but it looks like the cabin sole is lower than the cockpit sole.

I think the Honda 150 would probably be just fine. We sea trialed one with an E-Tech 150 and it moved well. The dealer had originally powered it with an E-Tech 200 and took it off because he said it was too fast.

There is a 2007 Cape Cruiser for sale for USD 65,000 in Anacortes WA.Its YachtWorld ID 2502339 (360-299-2526)

I saw this at Cape Sante marina in Anacortes last week when Casey and I were finishing his summer voyage ( I came down from Comax to Anacortes WA. with him .) I have no interest in this sale just want a c-brat to get a nice boat .
This was the first time I've been back cruising in the Gulf Islands for 20 years I sure miss it . The Admiral still loves Naples Fl.
I have the CC 23 which is very similar to a CC-26 except for toilet and more storage 8 1/2 beam to 8 ft beam . For those looking for a cd -25 this is a good alternative . Jim
