Sorry to hear you are selling your Dory. Did it not work out for you for ferrying your kids to school? Are you still living on Grant Farm Island? Toby and I are sorry that we never were able to connect with you all for a mini CBGT. We have not been down in your area since we met up last year. We did take the Comfy Dory on the St. John's River during the week between Christmas and New Year's. Launched on Lake Harney west of Titusville and went up to Palatka. Spent 6 nights in Paradise. Next long trip is scheduled for the last 10 days of May. Launching again on Lake Harney and traveling north up to Jacksonville and then back down the ICW to our house on Merritt Island. That will be our longest trip to date.

Thanks for the kind note. I am happy to report that we are staying put on the Island. My family and I love the daily commutes to and from Honest Johns. I have decided to sell the Cape Cruiser, reluctantly, because she is just too nice of a boat to use as a school bus. Because of my docking situation, what I really need is a floating tank. When we have to use the mainland dock, everyone ties off with a bowline and the boats simply bang into each other. That is no place for a nice boat. I am now shopping for an aluminum hull, crew boat-preferably with push knees and motor guard. I want people to be fearful of tying up next to my boat. I have found, however, that these old boats are in very short supply and a premium is paid for them when you find one. But enough about that. Please tell Toby "hello" and know your always welcome to stop by when cruising the river. Hope to see you soon. Sam

I'm sorry to hear about your docking situation. It would break my heart to watch my Dory being regularly beaten up while tied off, not to mention the loss of value for re-sale purposes. I am glad to hear that you are still a resident of Grant Farm though. As it turns out, Toby and I are going down to Sebastian Inlet Saturday morning for an overnight. I have done quite a bit of work on the boat to get it ready for offshore fishing. SS rack across the front of the engine well, new rod holders, Star Board bait/fish table and mounting brackets for a pair of old Perko fiberglass extending outriggers that my brother found at a garage sale for $5. Had fishing trips planned for last Friday and again for this Friday, but with the wind and seas being what they are right now, I decided not to go offshore. Toby said she needs a Comfy Dory fix, so off we go Saturday. If we get a chance, we would love to stop by and see you all. We'll probably anchor in the inside of the inlet near the channel if the wind is not too bad or tucked in behind one of the spoils islands if it is. I've had some good luck near the channel at night with shrimp for Mangrove Snappers on other occasions.
Any serious bites on the Cape Cruiser yet? I would love to get a look at it if we stop by. Not that we are in the market, but I would love to see the layout.

My kids love to anchor up in the tidal pool just west of the bridge. I took the boat down there three weekends ago with my older brother, 5 of his kids, and my two boys and we had a blast. Several manatee hung around our boat all afternoon and the children got a chance to interact with them. Feel free to stop by the house when you pass by. As for the Cape Cruiser, c-brats from all corners of the country have inquired but no money in the bank yet. No worries, I'm not real excited to sell her since she is the only vessel I own that doesn't embarrass me when I pull up to Capt. Hirams. Hope to cross wakes with you this weekend. Sam
